Not out of the relm. A lot going against us, I hope we win. I'm picking us, but I could see us stinking.

I can see us losing....not stinking. This game means more to them than to us. First of all, they pour so much into this game emotionally. Secondly, they are at home. If the skins lose this game. They will probably be swept by Dallas...and that pretty much gurantees that they will be 2-4 in the division at BEST. You go 2-4 in the division. You are sitting home in January.

Yeah picking Wash as an upset is legit.

I could see us losing tomorrow night. Do I think it will happen? No, but I could see that being the case.

I sure hope not... If it does happen, I would assume that the OL would be in most of the sports media post-game discussions as having played woeful because that is the weakest link on paper. We'll see come Sunday night.

they only one I would be surprised about

is the Cowboy game

the others are all toss ups

I am hearing a lot of talk on Sirius NFL (Tucker and others) about the Commanders having a good year & possibly even winning the NFC East (and beyond). There are several things about the Commanders that they seem to be ignoring:

1) They have new coaches (and Shanahan only batted .500 in his last 3 years of coaching, with a record of 24-24).
2) They have a new Offensive system to learn.
3) They have a new QB (who is learning a new Offense) (who couldn’t win the NFC East last year on a much better team).
4) They have a new Defensive philosophy (3-4), and are missing a few pieces of that personnel package.
5) They are old – oldest average team in the NFL.
6) They have a rookie starting at LT.
7) The starting QB already has a nagging ankle injury
8) The $100M starting DT/NT, a critical position in the 3-4 defense, is a) playing poorly in preseason; and b) in a pissing contest with the head coach that may get himself traded or benched.

Usually when I hear about a team dealing with any one of those items, I hear words like “rebuilding”. Combine them all together & it really surprises me to hear experts talk about them going deep into the post season.

My thoughts as well. A lot of people have the Ravens in the Super Bowl.

I can't see all this gloom and dire warnings of losing. The 'Skins were 4 and 12 last year. They went out and got a new coach who introduced a new scheme on defense. Teams don't change from a 4-3 to a 3-4 overnight.

Then the coach jettisons the quarterback, and gets an aging quarterback who couldn't get it done in Philly. What makes McNabb now so good? He hasn't got the same team quality behind him as he had in Philly. Joey Galloway is a starter? The same Joey Galloway that was one dimensional in Dallas many moons ago? If Dallas can't lock him up, then Newman and Jenkins are jokes, not pro-bowl.

All we've heard this summer was how much more focused Bennett was, and that he was finally "getting it." Then we heard Dez could catch anything and everything. We heard how Barber was slimmer and more explosive. We heard Felix had gained weight without losing speed, and how much more durable he would be.

We heard how Free was surprising everybody as to how well he was playing at left tackle, that he clearly was better than Barron.

We heard how good the safeties were, so good that Hamlin and Watkins were cut. We heard how good Butler and Williams were, so good that Ware and Spencer would get some in-game relief and be fresh in the fourth quarter.

Sorry, but I don't see Dallas having that hard of a time beating Washington. They know McNabb like a book. He isn't going to outplay his reputation.

I guess you did not see us last year when we beat them only scoring 7 points in the waning moments of the 4th quarter. I guess you did not see us last year in DC ONLY score 17 points when other teams were coming into DC and treating the Skins like a high school team. We do not MATCH the intensity that the Skins plays us with. Which is why it is ALWAYS much more of a struggle than it should be.

IMO, a well coached team can always come up with a few wins that go above and beyond the talent level of the team. Think what Parcells did with Quincy Carter at QB, or Testeverde. I'm not saying we're going to lose this game, but I also wouldn't underestimate how Shanahan could gameplan to disguise some of the teams shortcomings. Someone said the same thing in another thread, essentially that it might take teams a few games to figure the Skins out and expose the new 3-4 D's missing pieces.

I'm hoping that we win, and win big tomorrow.

Perhaps you are one of the young Cowboy fans who does not understand the history of this rivalry. This game never goes according to expectations. When the Cowboys were 1-15 and the Commanders were a contender, guess who the one win was for the Cowboys? Yes, Washington. The same goes for the Skins. Even when one of these teams is in a very down year, they always play the other team hard.

too many upsets for one week and some of them even aren't upsets...brown over bucs....yeah, give me pickem.....ravens over jets....pickem again....

and although I think its going to be a closer game than most expect, the cowboys will be in control of this game. the skins ahve no WRs and McNabb is gimpy and we will go a lot one on one and rush 7 and force him to throw early....

Ross Tucker and I went to the same Middle School back home in Abilene, TX. We played on the same football team considering their was a maroon team and a white team.

The boy was a man among boys back then. I remember going up against him during a hitting drill and he planted my ***. I also remember that I sprung my wrist on that very drill after landing on my backside.:

Not only was he a huge kid back in the day, I always remember he had a huge Michael Strahan gap between his front teeth. Pretty sure he got that fixed after making millions of dollars, but that always stuck out to me.

And perhaps I'm old enough to have been a season ticket holder in the Super Bowl era of the 90s. I'm old enough to know that Dallas is the only team that can win a division one year, and the next year be considered an also-ran, even though the team has been upgraded.

I have been disappointed many times over a Cowboys' loss, but I've never gone into a season thinking the team would be lucky to win a game over a foe that had a previous year record almost the inverse of the Cowboys' record.

You would think that if you are making your living with your voice, you wouldn't want to sound like Elmer Fudd. Sirius have some of the most grating voices on the radio.
