News: ESPN: Sources: Cowboys' Overshown tore ACL, MCL and PCL ligaments

Stupid question I'm sure, but anyone ever just got a TKR for something this bad and came back to play?

We may have seen the last of Overshown with the Cowboys. He had such a bright future. He had star written all over him. Not totally counting him out returning to form in a couple of years, but it’s not likely.

I love modern medicine and hold hope but what a blow. That is the type of injury that robs athleticism. Hope his meniscus didn't get too roached in the twist.

Plenty of people have come back from knee reconstruction. The issue is not so much finding donor tendon and the reconstruction as it is all the squishy bits between them. We have no idea what that is like and they are not going to tell us.

We can see when he gets back on the field. LB offseason rehab watch is always fun on CZ!

If you’re looking a comp, Navarro Bowman had a similar injury in the playoffs in 2013. He missed the following season but came back in 2015 and was an All Pro.

I spoke with a sport medicine doctor today coincidentally. So i had to ask about his injury. She said yes he can come back and do very well, but the question is how long can he go before he's hurt again.

No one knows if he will be able to play at the same level after this injury. Every player is different. He came back great from the ACL but Gallup didn’t. It’s not the same for every player. Another hurdle for Overshown is the development he’s losing by missing all these games.

Told everyone last season not to get hyped about the kid. Was injured every year in college. Great talent but not built for football. And worse, he’s playing linebacker. Wish him the best.

Some people are saying he is injury prone. I don't know that we can say that yet. This injury was the result of guys rolling up on his leg or at least putting weight against the direct the leg can bend at the knee. Its not like he was running across the field and had a non-contact injury. I think any player who got hit like that would suffer the same injury. Do you believe some players are just more likely to wind up in injury situations? or is it just happenstance? The entire Cowboys team has been snake bit this year.

I can see Overshown returning from this injury and playing without further injury. I do not think another injury is inevitable.

At the same time I do see that some players seem to get hurt more than others. Let's hope this isn't the case with Overshown. I love the way he plays.
