doesnt matter. Even if he was here last season, he would not have been back this year.

He never should have been here in the first place.

So, if Terrell Owens goes into the HOF, what team will he go in under?

You don't go in as a member of a team.

Lets look at the Cowboys losses that year leading up to the comment (that was following a 3 reception 31 yard game against Pitt.) A future hall of fame reciever, coming off a year where he made 80+ grabs for 1300+ yards and 15 touchdowns; you think *those* stats were getting him the ball sufficiently?

He was mediocre all year except for a couple of big games. He couldn't beat press coverage and once teams realized that, he never saw anything else. Oh, except for the 49ers who decided they didn't want to play press coverage.

It was a dumb *** signing and it backfired in Jerry's face just like everyone knew it would.

You think for a second the team, or more specifically Romo, would have had the success from 06-08 without Owens?

Get real.

I'm not even going to give a thoughtful response to that.

You can't be serious right? Think a little bit harder about that and the situation.

So TO throwing Romo, Witten the Garrett under the bus isn't a distraction? Yeah that makes perfect sense.

All the receivers complained about Garrett and Romo throwing to Witten all of the time at the end of that year. Roy did. Crayton did. Owens did.

2 out of the 3 are still around. Owens isn't.

Without Owens, Romo would never be the quarterback he is today.

He would have caught more if he didn't drop so many. He couldn't beat press coverage. He couldn't hold onto the ball. He couldn't shut up.

Owens is a loser.

Isn't TO, like, playing in Cincinnati or something this year? What ever happened to that guy after he got old and stopped being relevant? Anybody know?

You know what would be cool? If he and Chad Johnson--I mean, Ocho Cinco--started doing this really cool Batman & Robin routine every time they get interviewed. That would be totally *hilarious.* TO, Chad Johnson, and Carson Palmer: can you imagine how hard it would be to stop that offense back in 2005?

Owens was his own worst enemy. He should still be on this team. But he's not and he's the only one to blame for that. Either way the Cowboys made out pretty well in releasing him. And if he's still here maybe Dez is not here? Maybe Miles doesn't develop? You never know. But either way TO is a potential contender next season and the Cowboys should be a contender this year. Both parties are in a good situation.

He ushered in the wave of winning that we are still riding today.

Huh?

Romo is the one who ushered in the winning. Simply compare what Tony did last season versus what Owens did in Buffalo.

Compare what Romo did in week 17 against the Eagles in 09 compared to what Romo did with Owens and a team divided in week 17 against the Eagles in 08.

In both cases there simply is no comparison.

Miles > Owens
Bryant > Owens
Crayton > Owens at this point in his career
Ogletree > Owens at this point in his career

I'm glad he's gone because I like our recieving core right now. But that doesnt change the fact Owens was the scapegoat of the 08 season.

By no means do I feel that I left that team because of talent. Obviously, there have to be some other factors.
Terell, of course there are. And i think you are on the right path of rehabilitation when you start reflecting your own self like you're promising with that comment.

It's just so simple: People tolerate negativ elements as long as the positives prevail. If a players who is a headcase and hard to handle for coaches has so much talent and brings so much to the team then somewhere someone is ready to take the risk. Dallas did it. But when the time comes where ability goes down but the headcase stays then it's time to say goodbye. That's what we did.

So farewell and let go TO. For your own good.
