All the receivers complained about Garrett and Romo throwing to Witten all of the time at the end of that year. Roy did. Crayton did. Owens did.

2 out of the 3 are still around. Owens isn't.

Without Owens, Romo would never be the quarterback he is today.

The question is would the other two questioned it if TO wasn't around ? I think no.

And that's one of the problems with TO. He is a leader. But most of the time a leader of his own goals. Sometimes they cover those of the team and sometimes not.

And even if your last senstence makes no sense for the theme of this thread i think Romo would have had a harder time in the beginning without a WR like Owens but today he would be much further in his developement. Just because his flaws would have shown much earlier without a good WR. I do think that the Celebrity QB mentallity he took for a while wouldn't have happend without a WR like Owens. Without a player who made him look much better than he acutally was at this time of his career.

I'll say this. I enjoyed his time here. I still like to watch him play and I'm a fan.

But, no, I don't think he should still be here. If he'd have stayed then more than likely Austin never gets his shot to shine last year. Dallas probably would not have drafted Dez this year if you had a roster of TO, Williams, and Austin.

I'll take Austin and Dez for the next 6-8 years together over another couple of years of having TO with whoever else they put out there with him.
