I'm still waiting to hear why this injury is more serious.
No they specifically said it was more serious and then went on to say:Any back injury is serious especially for athletes. Tony isnt getting any younger so this type of injury isnt a good long term thing.
Heck, l wouldnt bet against you either!! Firefighter..ex-Marine..Mother. sound like a tough lady.No they specifically said it was more serious and then went on to say:
With a compression fracture, the recovery time and determination of return to play is dependent on the nuances of the injury. If the fracture is small and the spinal segment is stable, the recovery can be much quicker than if there is significant bone deformity and associated instability.
So they are admitting they do not know the severity of this particular injury.
None of these so called experts know. I don't know. You don't know. All we can do is play the waiting game and see when or if Tony is ready to come back.
One thing I do know for sure is I would not bet against Tony Romo.
I was away and didn't see the hit until today. Romo is in trouble. He really didn't get hit very hard and if his back can't take that then his body is just starting to fall apart on him.
I personally will be very sad if Romo goes out form injury. If anyone deserved to win its him. But I don't know what a guy can do if something breaks whenever he gets hit somewhat awkwardly.

I heard a doctor say that if not healed properly u risk paralysis.
I heard they may have to amputate at least 4 toes and 2 fingers and possibly an ear
Did they say which ear?
I hope you and JDSmith are right. It may just be that I don't see a lot of hits like this one so it doesn't look too bad in my eyes (incorrectly).Wrong. Anyone would have had the same injury with that hit.
I don't know.. I couldn't handle half of what Romo has been through lolHeck, l wouldnt bet against you either!! Firefighter..ex-Marine..Mother. sound like a tough lady.

It definitely doesn't feel like justice for Romo to be out like this...
Agreed. Tony has taken a beating during his career. To me, the last hit did not seem so dangerous he fell in an awkward way but its didnt seem that like it should have been so serious.I don't know.. I couldn't handle half of what Romo has been through lol
Thanks for the summary. The ESPN title does not reflect the content.
They said it is indeed a freak accident, that it is not related to past injuries, and that after healing, there should be full normal functionality going forward.
Of course, they also said what we all know; that is 36 and playing in the NFL.
Yes, but according to the headline it's a scary boo-boo.
