His time IS coming, just not that soon.

As long as Oh No Romo is QB, he will look for Witten early and often. If Dez is suffering through the Witten era, how would Escobar fare? Not good.

And if I am QB and Witten be on the field, heck, I thow often to Witten. Witten is that good. And I don't see age disagreeing with Witten.

Wait a couple of years, Mr. Escobar. Your time will come but not until Witten is clearly aging or is out of the game.

Well I would certainly hope that our 2nd round draft pick's time would be coming at least relatively soon.. I think Escobar can still be a nice player. I was surprised at how big he was when he walked by me a training camp. But he's still a horrible blocker, which really hinders the number of snaps he can play.

2 50 Chicago BearsJonathan Bostic LB Florida SEC
2 51 Washington Commanders David Amerson CB N.C. State ACC
2 52 New England Patriots Jamie Collins LB Southern Miss C-USA from Minnesota [R2 - 8]

2 57 Houston Texans D.J. Swearinger S South Carolina SEC
2 58 Denver Broncos Montee Ball RB Wisconsin Big Ten
2 59 New England Patriots Aaron Dobson WR Marshall C-USA
2 60 Atlanta Falcons Robert Alford CB Southeastern Louisiana Southland
2 61 Green Bay Packers Eddie Lacy RB Alabama SEC from San Francisco [R2 - 12]
2 62 Seattle Seahawks Christine Michael RB Texas A&M SEC from Baltimore [R2 - 13]
3 63 Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce TE Cincinnati Big East
3 64 Jacksonville Jaguars Dwayne Gratz CB Connecticut Big East
3 65 Detroit Lions Larry Warford G Kentucky SEC
3 66 Oakland Raiders Sio Moore LB Connecticut Big East
3 67 Philadelphia Eagles Bennie Logan DT LSU SEC
3 68 Cleveland Browns Leon McFadden CB San Diego State MWC
3 69 Cardinals Tyrann Mathieu CB LSU SEC
3 70 Tennessee Titans Blidi Wreh-Wilson CB Connecticut Big East
3 71 St. Louis Rams T. J. McDonald SUSC Pac-12 from Buffalo[R3 - 1]
3 72 New York Jets Brian Winters G Kent State MAC

I'd of taken Bell or Lacy over him at that pick but that's about it off that list. I think they really undervalued RB's in this draft class.

the problem is picking the rb's would of done nothing. We hate running the ball. Even when running make sense (being up my 21+ points in the second half and we are still gashing them in the run game) we fail to continue running. We still get pass happy. We needed a passrusher or safety in round 2. Because a running back would of been under and missed used just like murray. (i wanted lacy, bell or the top rated DT/DE that fits the 4-3(not named Hunt) at the time of the pick but seeing this offense now, picking a rb would of been a waste also).

I saw four or five players picked after Escobar that I would have taken. It looks like he will become a real weapon later so it's a reasonable pick.

The problem with him out wide is that he isn't fast enough to draw a safety over the top, and even an average corner should be able to run with him. Its much harder to utilize size on the outside.

I think he causes matchup problems wherever he is.

Swearinger was my top rated Safety in the 2013 draft.

Same here...loved him coming out of college. However, I firmly believe Escobar is going to be a very good player for this team down the road, even if I wasn't a huge fan of the pick either.

The pick didn't shock me, though I wasn't a fan of it at that point by any stretch, either. Still, Escobar has pretty much done what we've asked of him this year. He catches everything and has great size. I don't get what people don't like about him, other than their own draft expectations being let down.

I'll say this. Escobar runs some beautiful routes. He also has really good hands.

He's softer than Charmin in run support, though. That, and being behind one Jason Witten, is what keeps him off the field.

My expectations have been exceeded when it comes to Escobar.

I expected the team wouldn't utilize him because they've never really utilized 2 TEs all that well.

In all seriousness, I doubt any negative talk about him is a personal attack. He's just the product of a stupid decision so he's naturally going to catch some heat for it.
