Even if we lose to the Saints, Cowboys will probably make playoffs

Lets face it, the Giants aren't a very good football team right now and have major weaknesses on the defensive side of the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington beats them on Monday night. If this occurs, it would greatly increase our chances of making the playoffs. All we need is this:

1 Giants loss (hopefully @ Washington) + Dallas loss @ New Orleans

then

Dallas wins out, Philadelphia probably beats SF and Denver, which means they'll already have the division clinched by week 17; so they would have nothing to play for. This means we'll most likely play @ Philly the following week. Oh boy this will be an interesting 4 weeks!

Why would Philly probably beat SF or Denver?

Champ Baileys still great and can stick to D-Jackson, and Brandon Marshall should go nuts on them

I'm not saying that couldn't happen, but I'm just going by how Philly plays in December, which is pretty good.

No doubt bro, not even here but the national media as well. Everyone is writing us off if we lose to arguably the best team in the league. If the Giants or Eagles drop one game, we're right there with them. The chances of Philly AND the Giants winning out aren't that great.

GB has @PIT, SEA and @ARI.

They're 9-4, Dallas is 8-5. They have a head-to-head over Dallas.

If Dallas loses to NO, and Wins out, Wouldn't GB have to lose 2/3 games?

Most likely GB is going to get the 5th seed WC spot . We are playing for the division or the 6th seed spot.

If Cowboys win out, we win the division. And the Eagles have no gimme games vs. the 9ers and Broncos. Both those teams are still fighting for something so they will come to play.

I don't want to rely on other teams losing to get into the playoffs, We should win all 3 games(saints are beatable IMO) and start the playoffs in our house.

Personally Im 50/50 on saying "we" vs "cowboys". But both in the same sentence is a rarity.

In the words of Dick Stockton, kudos!

What is wild is that we are basically needing Washington to get us into the playoffs. The Giant's other 2 games are against Carolina (win) and against the Vikes who probably will not have anything to play for and will sit starters. I dont know about you, but I am not too confident of Tavarius Jackson beating anybody, thus Giants probably win.

So we are down to the Skins giving us our best chance at the playoffs, especially considering that the odds of the Eagles losing to either SF or Denver are not that high. Its possible, but I sure dont want to have to depend on that happenning.

Yeah, I saw that after I'd posted ...total brainfart.

Although, I still got the math wrong...I'm an english major, it happens haha if Dallas lost to NO, GB would have to lose all 3 of their remaining games for Dallas to overtake them. i was just nowhere near the target on that post

I agree that the Cowboys could lose to the Saints and still make the playoffs but I think this team needs this game for their own mental well being. Taking down a top contender I think could be a major boost for this team’s confidence and could get them on a big roll.

Yes they did and took the opening that was there for the taking and blew it. They are 7-6 and if people think Dallas is in a world of hurt right now the Giants are not faring much better.

Frankly I would rather be in the position we are in than that of the Giants where they need things outside of their control to happen.

And "if" we lose to the Saints, we could very well be in the same position the Giants are.

I'm taking this one game at a time.

If we start December off 0-3, I don't see us making the Playoffs.

That is a possibility I'm just saying the Giants are not in a good position themselves and have lost 6 of their last 7 games. Alt could be the team that comes back and shocks both of us however the only upside to that is Dallas holds the tie breaker on Alt.
