Even if we lose to the Saints, Cowboys will probably make playoffs

That is a possibility I'm just saying the Giants are not in a good position themselves and have lost 6 of their last 7 games. Alt could be the team that comes back and shocks both of us however the only upside to that is Dallas holds the tie breaker on Alt.

That's what most everyone, (fans and media) seem to be forgetting. Everyone is so quick to count us out, just giving up that 6th seed to the Giants.

Giants are losing one of the next two. Eagles also have a decent shot of dropping one of the next two.

Here's my best guess.
Cowboys, Eagles and Giants all go 1-1 over the next two weeks deciding nothing.

It will all come down to week 17. We beat the Eagles and we're in as division champs. If we lose we could be out provided the Giants beat Min.

I bet Arizona thought the same thing last year. Once you get in the dance anything can happen.

I have seen crazier things happen.

I do think however for the mindset of this team it is very important to beat the Saints. I know there are things that can happen that would put the Cowboys in the playoffs but for this team to have a good chance I think they need to step up and beat one of the 2 best teams in the league. I think that would build the confidence this team needs right now.

Way to keep it 'real' for the rest of us.
So, you're saying you've completely rolled over and given up, then? I think we got it.

I'll be a little pleasantly surprised should we beat the Saints but we have the best shot at beating them that anyone else has had. I know the Skins had them. If they can beat them so can we.

Out of curiosity, why do you say this?

I hear you. A win over the Saints would be huge for so many reasons but most of all for the confidence.

Maybe because we're better than anyone they've played so far. And yes that includes the Patriots.

Lets face it, the Giants aren't a very good football team right now and have major weaknesses on the defensive side of the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington beats them on Monday night. If this occurs, it would greatly increase our chances of making the playoffs. All we need is this:

1 Giants loss (hopefully @ Washington) + Dallas loss @ New Orleans

then

Dallas wins out, Philadelphia probably beats SF and Denver, which means they'll already have the division clinched by week 17; so they would have nothing to play for. This means we'll most likely play @ Philly the following week. Oh boy this will be an interesting 4 weeks!

Ok first off, stop with the "probably" make the playoffs crap.

While we still control our own destiny, a loss Saturday means we need help from NYG and Philly.

In no way shape or form does needing help from your DIVISION RIVALS make it a "probably" that we make the playoffs.

We CAN make the playoffs, but I dont know about PROBABLY.

Oh, and one more thing...

I wouldn't be shocked at all if the Giants win out. Their toughest game, Minn, they very well could be playing against Tavaris Jackson. That is why this weekend game with the Saints is so big. If we win it helps us directly, but indirectly it keeps Minnesota playing in that final week.

we need to win 2 of 3.

You're assuming the giants are going to lose to the Commanders and that the eagles are just going to let us into the playoffs by resting their starters.

Everyone is writing us off if we lose to arguably the best team in the league.

It's been the last 2 games that has everyone writing the Cowboys off. The Cowboys haven't looked right since their loss to GB a month ago.

Saying that Dallas would probably win their last two is a real stretch. I hope so, but "probably" is not the word I'd use.

I'm so glad to see that we are all so excited about potentially backing into the playoffs...again

This fanbase is bordering on pathetic, which is understandable considering how long we have been down. Still, it's sad to see how far Cowboy's fans have fallen. There was a time when blowing a division lead in December led to fans calling for a coaches head. Now we embrace it so long as other teams failures allow us to get into the postseason.

I don't understand what's wrong with backing into the playoffs? Okay in 2006 everyone here knows we outplayed the Seahawks, and should have made the GW field goal. But the fact is we seriously backed into the playoffs that year, should have beaten Seattle and Parcells said he liked our chances against Rex Grossman the following week. Another example is Arizona last year. They limped into the playoffs, beat Atlanta, gained some confidence and went to the Super Bowl. How about the Giants in 2007? Limped into the playoffs, got confidence with the New England game and won the Super Bowl with a head coach that was about to be fired. Anything can happen and it doesn't matter how you make to the dance but IF you make it.

And that's the problem, our fanbase no longer sees it as an issue

Making the playoffs is making the playoffs. Every team, whether they entered at 16-0 or 9-7 has a shot at the Lombardi.

You need to relax.
