Even more proof that Carp's a bust

I wish we had a little smilie where credibility flew out a window.

Your reply shows not only a bias for Carpenter but a lack of knowledge of the facts as well.

Spencer started six games and posted three sacks to go along with 36 tackles. In his rookie season, Carpenter started one and had 1.5 sacks and 19 tackles. And Spencer had Ellis in front of him. Carpenter had a free path to the starting OLB job with only Al Singleton to hold him off and it never materialized.
I missed this post earlier, until fortdick pointed it out. You've got it totally backwards.

1. Spencer DID NOT have Ellis in front of him when he was getting his starts. In fact, he didn't have ANYONE in front of him at the position. It was either Spencer or nobody.

2. Carpenter DID HAVE Ellis in front of him for most of the season. Carpenter was moved inside immediately (i.e., in the first few days of camp). Then, of course, he was moved back outside when Ellis went down. So, he'd basically never played 3-4 OLB (not even in training camp) and had a seasoned veteran in front of him. You think there's a problem there with it taking a few weeks to takeover from Al Singleton?

That said, clearly Spencer is the better 3-4 OLB, but I never thought Carpenter was a 3-4 OLB anyway.

-Jason Witten
Actually I think he said that to Brady James. Witten yelled at the coach to get carp off him when he was being held, in his opinion.

Pretty sure Witten has called out everyone he's caught a ball against in camp. It was pretty funny when he called out Burnett on 'Hard Knocks'.

'All day five seven. All day.'

But that's leadership, tomson. He's trying to get the defense to step up.

I realize that....and it could be just as true for Carpenter.

Sorry, that was a joke, t. That was one of the examples given of leadership when Witten was in fact talking ish same as Crayton. You might've missed that thread.

I personally thought it a hilarious stretch.

Lmao...makes sense now. I'm a little disturbed that I actually missed a thread though. Shocking. :)
