Fun little story a out my encounter meeting a celebrity:

I was coming home on leave one year, 2004 I believe, and I had a connect flight at one of the LA airports (Not sure if it was LAX). I had enough time to smoke a cig before my connecting flight. They (at least from memory) a nice little gardenish smoking. As I was puffing away I started with conversing with another smoker, a woman that looked to be in her early 50's, with a very odd but not unattractive face. She asked me alot of questions when she found out where I was coming from. She then started about all the letter she received from soldiers in Vietnam. I found that very odd at that moment. I mean why would soldiers in Vietnam be writing this random woman.

I was maybe an hour into my flight before it him. That was Joni ******* Mitchell I was talking too! But man I tell you, I could never have imaged a celebrity, especially someone of her stature being so down to earth. We spoke maybe 10-15 minutes and pretty much the entire time the focus of the conversation was centered on me. I can see with that outlook and willingness to listen, how she could be one of most renowned songwriters in Rock and Roll history

When I was in high school in Arlington (Lamar) I took a hospitality course and worked at the big Marriott next to the old Rangers stadium; this is where the opposing teams would stay when they played the Rangers. I remember taking room service up to Bo Jackson.
Wow. How was he?

That is awesome, I have always found her attractive.

The lyrics in Going to California were written about Joni...…….

"Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.

To find a queen without a king;
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings"

I met Malcolm McDowell, Mark Hamill and Thomas F. Wilson years ago when they starred in a game I was working on. Wilson is the guy who played Biff in Back to the Future. I also talked to Ralph Fiennes for a bit at a bar in New York and had Sandra Bullock sit down near me at a bar in Austin. I tried to get up the nerve to go hit on her but chickened out.

One cool thing I got to do was direct a commentary recording session with Thom Brennaman and Steve Lyons. Spent several days with those guys and got to talk to them a lot. Lyons was really cool. Brennaman, not so much.

I went to school with Lisa Welchel. The spoiled rich brat on Facts of Life.
My ex girlfriend was best friends with porn star Shay Sweet.(Don't Google at work)
Hung out with the metal band Pantera when they still played all over Dallas/Ft.Worth.
Seen and talked to Daryl Johnston and David LaFluer in the Ft.Worth Stockyards
Got to go back stage at a Cinderella-Ratt concert because I was dating a girl that worked for Z-Rock. An all heavy metal station.

I'm a big fan of British entertainment. I may have heard of them.
Some names would be familiar. Starting with the 'bigger' names, Eric Clapton, Jeremy Irons, Timothy West, Penelope Keith, Chris Evans, Nigel Farage, Geoffrey Palmer, Jim Davidson, Noel Fitzpatrick, Andrew Castle, She Pollard, Rula Lenska, Patricia Routledge, Sandi Toksvig, Adrian Edmondson, Maureen Lipman. There are others that aren't immediately coming to mind.

Dallas Diamond Page in Atlanta airport. I recognized him and called him by name. He came over and we talked for a few minutes. Great guy.

He said he appreciated my wrestling interest and knowledge. Afterwards my wife simply said, oh brother.

Did you do some yoga together? :D

Seriously though that's cool. He seems like a good guy.

Only celebs I've met have been at autograph signings or meet & greets after a comedy show, etc. And that's been very few. Got to talk a little with Chris Gethard (not a huge celebrity in some people's eyes) after his stand up show a few years back. Mostly because one of my best friends is good friends with him so we had a little extended conversation after the show.

I played craps in Vegas, I think the MGM, next to Rodney Dangerfield back in the mid 90s, only reason I stopped at the table was there was this almost 6 ft tall scalding hot blonde with the shortest mini skirt ever there..yep she was with him.lol He never said anything but good luck when he lost.
Of course one guy said 'no respect' when he left.ha
