Every Player Ever Drafted By Dallas Broken Down By College

What to me is interesting is how few good players we have ever gotten from the Football factories like Ohio state USC Alabama etc.

Great stuff Hos. I only wish that LSU had a better overall representation. :(

I wish we drafted from the SEC with every pick, not kidding.

B is Backs, and E is Ends.

For a long time in the NFL these were the designations. It did not tell you whether the Back was a DB or a RB, nor if the E was a DE, TE or SE (which is Split End).
Wow, never knew that. Thanks.

What the hell were they thinking? :laugh2:

Alabama9)...Tony Dixon, S (2001), Michael Myers, DT (1998), Sherman Williams, RB (1995), Derrick Lassic, RB (1993), Thornton Chandler, TE (1986), Leroy Cook, DE (1976), Dennis Homan, WR (1968), Gaylan McCullough, C (1965), Lee Roy Jordan, LB (1963)

Louisiana State...(5)...Skyler Green, WR (2006), Marcus Spears, DE (2005), Stephen Peterman, G (2004), Bradie James, LB (2003), David LaFleur, TE (1997)

I count 8 players there that really mattered ( and that is giving Spears the benefit of the doubt).. Yeah a whole lot of talent from the SEC.

As for Ball State, you forgot that safety we drafted in 2005 in the 6th round. Justin Beriault was his name, I think.

Coffeyville JC...(1)...Mike Lowman, RB (1989)

Pomona - Pitzer...(1)...Nate Kirtman, DB (1992)

Sacred Heart...(1)...Deveren Johnson, WR (2002)
For your interests, these three players are the only players ever drafted from their colleges in NFL history.

Nice catch. Thank you very much.

Florida and Arizona State with 14 each follow.

Woohoo!!! UCLA is represented!!!

Very interesting, thanks.

We drafted EIGHT Miami Hurricanes during Jimmy's 5 year tenure.

Yeah, and Russell Maryland was the only one worth squat.

We did take Irvin while Jimmy was still at Miami though.

Kevin Williams did a good job as our Returns guy. In 1993 he had 2 PRs for TDs.

Jimmie Jones was a pretty solid player.

Didn't we draft a RB from Iowa or Iowa St, about 10 years ago, who passed away during the off season. I think his name was Heyward or something like that.

I think it was an accidental overdose, can't be sure.

Ennis Haywood, wasn't it? From Iowa State. I actually thought he had something as a player -- I think Parcells would've liked him. Shame when young people die like that... I think it was just a freak thing and not drug-related.

BTW, Hos, isn't the Fort Valley State that gave us Rayfield and Peppi the same school?

He wasn't drafted.

Ennis Haywood

According to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office, a combination of over-the-counter drugs and ethanol complicated his asthma, causing the 23-year old to vomit and eventually stop breathing in his sleep.
