Every Player Ever Drafted By Dallas Broken Down By College

Didn't we draft a RB from Iowa or Iowa St, about 10 years ago, who passed away during the off season. I think his name was Heyward or something like that.

I think it was an accidental overdose, can't be sure.
Ennis Heywood was not drafted. This is strictly Drafted players.

Ennis Haywood, wasn't it? From Iowa State. I actually thought he had something as a player -- I think Parcells would've liked him. Shame when young people die like that... I think it was just a freak thing and not drug-related.

BTW, Hos, isn't the Fort Valley State that gave us Rayfield and Peppi the same school?
This site lists them as different schools.

http://www.drafthistory.com/colleges/f.html

If that is wrong, I will correct it and write to that site to see if they will.

It's the same school it just changed it's name, and some sites list it as two different schools for some reason.

The school became Fort Valley State University, a State and Land-Grant University, in June 1996. It was just Fort Valley State College before that.

More from Tennessee than any other college. 18.

16 from UCLA is 2nd most.

Florida and Arizona State with 14 each follow.
Looks like Arizona is only good for kickers.

of course it looks like my Longhorns aren't good for anything.:bang2:

Sorry guys but frankly the record of the SEC with the Boys is not all that good. As regards GREAT players- what, 2 or 3?

Actually of all the conferences it looks like the Pac 10 did pretty well.

Stanford really gave us a lot of quality.

Just from those schools I counted more then the SEC ever gave us that were high quality and frankly HOF talent.

Stanford really gave us a lot of quality.

Just from those schools I counted more then the SEC ever gave us that were high quality and frankly HOF talent.

I counted 11 guys who were starters for us for at least a few years:
Nick Folk, Darren Woodson, Jim Jeffcoat, Bob Breunig, Danny White, Troy Aikman, Ken Norton Jr., Tony Hill, Pat Donovan, Blaine Nye, & Mel Renfro.

Throw in Scott Laidlaw as a contributor and that's 12 guys compared with 8 maybe from the SEC.

It's funny how you can see trends in how well the college teams were doing at a time b/c they had several players taken over a short span of years (miami in the late 80s/early 90s, Florida in mid80s/mid90s, LSU in the mid 2000s, etc)

Yet again another great thread.

We have drafted a TON outta Tennessee.

thanks hostile i can use that;

do you know if any cowboys players ever went to tyler junior college hostile?

I will look it up and if I find that it is, I will combine the two.

Thanks.

I noticed that as well. There were some dry heaves for a while. I noticed we drafted several kickers over the years. More than I imagined we had. But only the 2 from Arizona seemed to make the team. I want to go back and double check that some time when I am already sick to my stomach.

Darren Benson wasn't drafted out of Arkansas State: he was drafted out of Trinity Valley CC.

Also, for Johnson C. Smith, you can add Pettis Norman.

Without a doubt Miami has the best quality of multi players from one school.
But for percentage of accuracy of great players from one school?????
1. Navy-1 for 1-Roger Staubach.
2. Troy-1 for 1-Demarcus Ware.
Tennessee has not been a great place for us to find players...Alvin Harper being the exception to the rule.
For Arizona State and Hawaii not being traditional football powerhouses we have gotten good players from those schools for the most part.

Pettis Norman was drafted in 1962 by the Dallas Texans in the AFL draft.

I went by the Draft site which lists Darren Benson's Draft college as Arkansas State.

Jason Witten is not a player?

My bad on Norman.
