I'm indifferent on Spencer.

I think he's a little short, when compared to Ware and Ellis.

Anyways...we are stacked at LB.

I still prefer taking a DB in 2007.

Maybe we get one in 2008.

...what are you even talking about? What does Spencer being 1 INCH shorter than Ware have to do with whether or not he was good last year as a rookie?

I liked what I saw from him.

I was a little disappointed we didn't use him more when Ellis came back. We could have really taken advantage of having Ellis, Ware, and Spencer on the field together more IMO.

I agree it is this kind of gibberish that makes me wonder if eduncan22 has ever watched a Cowboys game or any football game for that matter.

Ecstatic with him actually. I think if Ellis had not come back he'd have been a legit candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year. It is better for us that he can be groomed a bit for the role.

I agree, when he played he looked like Ware did his rookie year, all over the place creating havok and looked really good.
I almost wish we didn't have Ellis as crazy as that sounds to get him on the field more.
I think we should move Ellis to D.T. on passing downs with Spencer and Ware s the D.E.'s to get our best pass rushers in on passing downs.

How many freaking Cromartie's are there? :laugh2:

1 more out there this yr, love that kid, and at 6' 2", he can play burress, moss (in superbowls) - prob not next yr, granted, but still...

I was a Talib/smith hopeful, but now, I want him bad at 28, his level of comp is a non-issue, watch his senior bowl week, kid is a stud. I just hope he doesnt blow the doors off his 40 time so he will still be around in late 1st for us. He is a young kid too (I am frustrated that T New is approaching his twilight yrs - at least as far as an nfl cb is concerned, how darn old was he when we drafted him 25?) Think this kid is 20??? (that isnt a huge deal, the main thing is...the kid can play, but it's worth mentioning)

Oh I know, there just was no Cromartie in the draft we were discussing.

Also I think TNEW is just entering his prime, CB's tend to hit it in their prime in their late 20's to early 30's.

Fair enough, but T New is what 30? Yeah, I mean he has had two GREAT yrs back to back, I am just saying it seems like yesterday he was our #1 pick, and in 2 yrs, he will be a 33 yr old nfl cornerback? Prime...okay, but there arent very many nfl corners that played much past age 34 at the same level they once did (darrell green being the obvious exception) Its nobody's fault he is how old he is, and was when we drafted him. (think he was 25, which is old for a rookie) You dont pass on drafting a great older rook, just thought Cromartie's almost extreme youth was worth mentioning.

I agree, it's a pretty small window for CB's.

I heart Spencer

he tended to overpursue and take himself out of plays, but that's inexperience, the future looks very bright for him

I'd like to see Spencer in the starting role too, mostly to preserve Ellis but also to give Spencer a chance to showcase his skills...

Funny thing is towards the end of the year I kind of forgot he was on the team, but from what i've seen so far I'm very happy that we have him. Spencer is going to continually benefit from having Demarcus on the other side and hopefully Demarcus and Greg are teaching him something!

We drafted a DE that is smaller than our two starting OLB'ers.

In Ellis' case, he's at least 3 inches taller than Spencer.

It's just a fact. It's not a judgment on his skills.

Like I said, I'm indifferent to Spencer.

He was a great pick. We could have a nice passing threat with him and DWare.

Spencer isn't a DE. He is a OLB.

He might be 3 inches shorter than Ellis; but he is just ONE inch shorter than Ware. Is Ware too short?

I expect you'll ignore this, because, well, facts aren't your thing.

LOL. I had forgot that this guy got upset that we drafted a college DE to play OLB because he didn't realize that almost all 3-4 OLBs were college DEs. Oh the hilarity.

Heck, in Spencer's first game ever as a pro, he sacked the super bowl MVP on a two point conversion. :)

Seriously, I think he's going to be a heck of an OLB for us. He's got a great first step and his hands are inordinately strong... once he gets a hold on the ballcarrier, that guy is going down.

That statement reminds me of Charles Haley... wouldn't THAT be cool? The return of the "elephant backer"...
