Everyone in Dallas Area, stay inside and stay safe

As someone who spent my first 9 years in Dallas, my heart is heavy, and I've been up for most the night. Of course I'm praying for the brave police officers who run toward danger to protect protestors. These heroes don't let murderous people remain unchallenged, they've risked and given their lives to defend us all. Noble and honorable, I salute the officers for their heroic actions last night and this morning.

So sad to see this. I am currently overseas and watching CNN International. I can't believe what I am watching.

That's pretty true.

DPD has done a great job of protecting protests and parades... Not that anyone deserves what happened tonight, but Especially not DPD. Just don't see the correlation here-- attacking cops that were doing exactly what they were supposed to?

It's just baffling.

If the "Blue line of defense" is truly broken, this "ALL" stops...

Killing of police officers and killing of innocent people by police officers like this will continue to happen until racism is kicked from law enforcement and political power.

The FBI warned of this growing threat in Oct. 2006. Yet it still continues today and we continue to see the aftermath in the news repeating over and over.

Selfishness and elitism are the seeds of hate. This is hate.

This is not a gun control thread. That's the only warning I'm going to issue on the topic, so please take it seriously.

Thoughts and prayers are with the families of the injured and the dead.

Yep, this isn't about guns, it's about racism and hate.

FRIENDLY REMINDER - KEEP POLITICS OUT OF THE CONVERSATION - THANKS...

It isnt just racism....however, the ones willing to take action do so because they view it as racism.

It is overtaxation, overcriminalization, taking someone's property, destroying someone's life, killing an innocent person.

But most of that list, we shrug our shoulders at because "eh, it wasnt me" and "ooops, accidents happen".

2 innocent civilians were killed by murderers earlier this week in two separate crimes.

5 innocent officers were killed by murderers last night all at once.

This is not a political thing ..... its about murderers killing innocent people.

One of the police offers who passed was a very close friend of a FB friend. She's devastated. This one young man's stepbrother was on twitter last night asking for prayers because the police had called his parents to come to the hospital. Unfortunately, his fears were realized.

So sad..

This is a very stupid comment! How about allowing the two police shootings to be investigated before calling them murders. If the results show the officers took inappropriate actions, so be it. Prosecute them. However, YOU do not know exactly what happened at this point. Jumping to conclusions shows low intelligence OR an agenda. That's what happened with the Mike Brown situation and it was proven that the original claims of Hands Up, Don't Shoot were ********.

Really couldn't agree more. I'd have to say, you're simply an idiot if you believe these cops go out with the intent to kill unarmed black men, or children in Tamir Rice's case. Even if they were indifferent to the life they were taking, they don't want the attention or the headache that it brings these days. And you'd also have to be an idiot to believe that these are just isolated incidents that have nothing to do with race, but everyone is so extreme in their views these days, that those in the middle just aren't heard.

Yes, because legal exoneration of police officers involved in shootings is equates to no wrong doing. Don't you understand that is part of the problem--lack of accountability?

Bias media didn't help this.

I have absolutely no idea and will NEVER understand why people can't sit back and wait for evidence to come out. The Alton Sterling case is open and shut for me. The other is up in the air and I'm going to WAIT until more comes out. In this digital age, seeing these stuff happen on video it's easy to get emotional. With the amount of crime, there will be incidents of cops doing wrong in high pressure situations.

There is no justification for what happened last night. None. There were countless people PEACEFULLY protesting, even taking pictures with cops and talking to them. Dallas was coming together, and some lowlifes had to ruin it and get people riled up again. I saw some disgusting tweets on my Twitter today.

Just all around a really messed up situation, far too much emotion with little logical discussions happening.

Just like blaming those that died in the shooting for their past actions, you using past actions of police officers YOU PERCEIVE WERE GUILTY to judge current incidents is idiotic.

This is exactly what I was meaning. You don't throw out due process because your fee-fees. Knock it off.

If you haven't carried a badge and gun and put your *** on the line, you have no idea how things work. You have a split second to make a decision. Videos do NOT always tell the whole story. Are there bad cops? Absolutely. Every profession has bad apples. Do we need to weed those out? Absolutely. My point is, just because something looks awful in a video, it isn't always the case. And yes, I know what I'm talking about. I've been an LEO for 25 years.

No sure what fee-fees are, but can you not understand that there is an issue with accountability in incidences like this--a systemic problem that is being repeated--and that past incidents will feed into discontent?

Do you think the shooters in Dallas were guilty (I do), but I don't see you clamoring for their due process.

If you come into this thread to argue about gun control, politics, racial issues or just to be a turd because you disagree with someone else that you think is being a turd...stop, walk away or get benched. This is the third and FINAL warning in this thread.
