two-deep, go back to where i said "let time call people fools" as my way of saying "we can't know NOW if it's a good draft or not". i just won't buy into the coaches hype so early on as each and every year they do it.

i won't buy into our OL being fixed till it is.

again, not sure where we disagree.

You cant really blame fans for their reactions on pics like this.
The draft has become as important and popular as any major sporting event, and expectations seem to be more name related based on familiarity.
Players that fans have heard of through the media, they can identify with them because of this familiarity aspect.
When a guy like Hatchers' name is called for our 3rd round selection,, thats right out of left field, very few even know of him, and the negative reaction ensues.
People want to hear a Ko Simpson, or Max Jean Giles,, a familiar name, not necessarily a better player.[/quote ]true

not sure where we disagree two-deep.

i just hate it when "fans" think the complainers are blind and stupid when in reality the moves just don't make sense *to us* and we talk through it.

i've learned a lot this way, i've had to agree to disagree a lot this way. but i've NEVER run back to "neener neener in bill we trust!" as an answer to a debate.

as for the 'light of truth' - heh, clever. but what i said is still true enough to me for the reasons i stated.

Ice, I think there is some truth in what you say.

And maybe the reality is somewhere in between.

I wasn't initially keen on a 2nd round TE. But thinking about it overnight and how he's basically replacing Polite (who I've never been excited about) and provides depth as a true receiving threat at TE, I must say I like the pick.

Hatcher? I didn't know much about him either when his name was called. But the more I read about him the more intrigued I am by his talent. He could very well be a good one.

Will he give us more than a 3rd round OL or a 3rd round FS? Dunno. But I can't *******ize the pick at this point.

It's not necessarily faith in Bill but more so faith in Ireland.

This is a poor draft so far but we can still help our Oline and pass coverage in the second day and that's what I ecpect our "barintrust" to do.
Strange that all three guys went right where they should have been pick - no reaches yet some are unhappy. Obviously we didn't know the plan was to run a 2 TE set offense more this year. That means we needed another TE and went out and got a good one.

With all the flashy names out there for us to take in the third, we pased on all of them because we wanted more DL depth. The scouting reports used words like monster and beast to describe him. Norm said it perfectly yesterday when he said you need to be at least 2 deep along the DL to rotate guys in and keep them fresh.

To say this is a poor draft tells me you didn't hear JJ or Ireland talking about our picks or know about the big picture of drafting for the future and the BPA. We got some very solid players that a hard working and are far from reaching their potential. All 3 will be Cowboys for a long long time. I'll take that any day over some of the reach picks or guys that are thugs.

yea, that's what we really don't know right now - who's driving this draft and how much ireland is really involved.

i am coming around to fasano. hatcher's gonna take longer just cause hell - we have DE's out the wazoo and adding more depth when we need balance in other places just doesn't make sense, even if BPA.

I don't know about the OL either...

However I do know the line will have two new starters plus a returned Flozell Adams.

I have no doubt Petitti will be improved.

I don't know where it's at now but I have no doubt it is better than it was when we finished the season.

I don't believe you are blind or stupid.

I think you are complaining about something you can't possibly know until the results are in.

It's like going to the doctor to see if you have VD.

They draw blood and go do some tests.

You may surmize you have it or don't.

But until you have immutable facts, you are just speculating.

Which is what the ranters seem to do alot.

That wouldn't be so bad, in and of itself. If it also didn't come with the bonus of telling people like me who are hopeful that the draft completely sucked and all the players we got are busts.

Before they take a snap.

You may not do this.

But look at some past pages from yesterday and see the litany of bile spewed from a position of authority by people who haven't the foggiest of an indea what is and what isn't.

Like your comment on offensive linemen chosen by Parcells.

What happened yesterday does not neccessarily dictate what will happen tomorrow in this game.

Or the Colts would have won it all.
Another excellent post TD3 you are on a roll brotha.

I always get a good laugh out of a couple things on message boards.

You have the crowd that are the nay sayers so to speak.

So then you have the other crowd come in with the Sky is Falling talk.

Of course the nay sayers have to pipe up and say...It is a message board we are entitled to our opinions, why are you saying we can't have our opinions mumble mumble mumble.

But by saying that, they seem to forget that the other people have that same right to say they don't like hearing the complainers or naysayers.

So if the people complaining get told by others that are tired of hearing them complain, which in turn means the ones complaining about the complainers become complainers themselves then the orginal complainers complain again about the new complainers and then we have two group of complainers complaining about the other complainer. Yet both have the right to complain but make sure to make it seem like the other is trying to keep them from complaining.

I am just tired of complaining from the complainers...on either side. I guess that is me being a complainer and making a complaint. :laugh2:

but i've not seen one pointing out it's a message board and why we're here as trying to stop conversation, like "shut up, you don't do this for a living" DOES do.

saying you have a right to talk when told you don't doesn't imply *anyone* doesn't have that right, bp.

I will not drink the company kool-aid until we actually have results (no, one playoff appearance and no playoff wins in 10 years is not results). I will continue to listen to what Jerry and the braintrust have to say with skeptisicm. Doubting the ability of a one AdamJ13 (aka the smartest man alive outside of Stephen Hawking), blasphemy pure and simple. That kind of talk will get you a public stoning.
