Excuses Through Week 5

The excuse narrative for our disappointing play through week 4 was that we faced four of the league's top defenses. This week its that we were playing ARod. At some point you have to be better than the teams you are playing or you just have to conclude you aren't really that good yourself. Surely, we are better than the 49ers right? Commanders, I don't know.

We faced two good defenses, one that will finish top 10 if not top 5. We weren't all that impressive against the Giants, and were completely and utterly destroyed by the Broncos D. And we already know how we've looked against teams the last two weeks.

So our offense can't really do much against good defenses and our defense can't really compete against competent offenses. Again, I repeat, we are one of the worst teams in the league on BOTH sides of the ball.

Something is fundamentally wrong with the core of this team. It's coaching and the players.

When you get rid of your leading tackler you know you are going to have problems!! Church is missed big time!

You can get rid of them, you just have to adequately replace them and hopefully upgrade them.

Many here fell for the "build through the draft' narrative, which is stupid because all 32 teams attempt to do this. Just get better. Stop having philosophies. Get better. Everything else is losing.

Why would you think Dallas is better than the Commanders this year?? they are playing FAR better and have a better record as well

when Dallas plays them twice and they should win, you will be surprised? if Dallas is struggling still has poor defense, line problems and Washington is playing very well theres no question they are better

Which will get us 8-8 and no coaches will get fired and no changes will be made. The Dak era will go exactly like the Romo era. Dak will have to play unbelievable in every game just to give us a chance and hope the defense won't blow it.

Same movie, different actors. We're going to throw away the careers of Romo, Witten, Martin, Fred, Smith, Elliott, Prescott, etc because of the likes of Byron Jones, Heath, Crawford, etc.

So depressing watching Romo for all these years put everything on the line for the team and then yesterday Dak basically pulling off magic acts and all for nothing because our defense has sucked for 15 years.

Two things that are not excuses they are straight facts and have been for a very long time.

The defense is just plain bad.

Our coaching staff continues to be out coached on a regular basis, especially with halftime adjustments.

Again, if it's a 12-4 offense, why could it do diddly poo against the Broncos? I'm not saying we should have put up 50 on them, I'm saying why is this dynamic, great offense only putting up 7 meaningful points?

That Denver game showed an all-around bad team - not just a bad defense. The offense was simply terrible. We got beat every way, and frankly, it didn't look great against the Giants and most of the Cardinals game either.
