Excuses Through Week 5

Again, if it's a 12-4 offense, why could it do diddly poo against the Broncos? I'm not saying we should have put up 50 on them, I'm saying why is this dynamic, great offense only putting up 7 meaningful points?

Or only scoring 3 points the entire second half against the Giants?

And some here were saying how dumb it is to rid of that many veteran players in a single offseason, and we got the argument they were all JAGs.
Good times. Meanwhile players like Church, Carr and even Claiborne seem to be doing just fine in their new digs.

Their replacements in players like Jeff Heath and Nolan Carroll, are either a liability or completely irrelevant.

I can here another one coming soon from the FO, we're so young back there in the secondary........

What's shocking is the youngest guys are our best assets back there. What does that say about this coaching staff's ability? For a decade, players have come to this team and seemed to regress from year to year, with the exception of the OL and Romo.

Or only scoring 3 points the entire second half against the Giants?

Exactly. And we only got 7 points in that Broncos game, if I remember correctly, because we caused a fumble on their side of the field.

People continue to think we have a solid offense because of Zeke and Dak and the O-line reputation. I'm starting to think both sides of this offense is pretty damn bad.

Then it's not a 12-4 offense.

And talking to many people around here, Dez sucks, Williams sucks, O-line is overrated, and Zeke is fat.
Look, we all know your anti-Dak agenda. If he's not 38 of 38, 500 yards and 9 TD's, he crap.

That's what you do.

The offense scored 30 and 31 points the last 2 games. You average 30 points in this league, you will win 12 games. Maybe more.

You despise Dak. That's fine. It's a free country. But don't try to pretend you have any ligitimacy with me.

And, apparently, our coach suffers from a learning disability. Not his fault, it's an inspirational story.

....I'm granting you it's because of the coaching staff.

Whether it's Dak or the coaching staff, if you admit the coaching staff is the problem, it's not a 12-4 offense. What is difficult here? why can't you folks actually debate and go directly to the poster?

Do better.

Actually it's very, very simple.

Scoring 61 points in 2 games should net you 2 wins. Instead they lost.

It's on the defense.

As for coaching, I'd dump Marinelli today, put Eberflus at DC for the rest of the year and find a real DC in the offseason.

Garrett isn't going anywhere. No point in discussing it.

How's this for debating?

Someone has got to be trolling but I'm not taking de bate. Please don't feed the troll.

We are definitely in need of an infusion of speed on offense. WR's been discussed plenty, but Witten's a shell of himself out there. That's going to be a major need heading into the 2018 draft as well.

We faced two good defenses, one that will finish top 10 if not top 5. We weren't all that impressive against the Giants, and were completely and utterly destroyed by the Broncos D. And we already know how we've looked against teams the last two weeks.

So our offense can't really do much against good defenses and our defense can't really compete against competent offenses. Again, I repeat, we are one of the worst teams in the league on BOTH sides of the ball.

Something is fundamentally wrong with the core of this team. It's coaching and the players.

I am near the end when it comes to blaming the players. The players are always changing but the results are eerily similar over a long period.

And yet again, when this offense went up against good defenses, what were the score totals? Why is this dynamic and great offense only putting up 7 and 19 points against good defenses?

You said coaching staff. We're not a 12-4 offense then. We just differ on why this offense is bad - I think it's worse, you think a coaching change will fix it. I think a coaching change and some serious FA and draft signings are needed.

30 points in the last two games isn't much?

Again, when we faced GOOD DEFENSES, how many points did we put up? If we have such a good offense, why is it that we couldn't put up more than 7 meaningful points on the Broncos? Why couldn't we get more than a TD on the Giants?

Per Archer...

According to Elias Sports Bureau, the Cowboys are the second team in NFL history to lose consecutive games at home despite scoring at least 30 points in both contests. The 2012 Detroit Lions lost two in a row when scoring 31 and 33 points. The Lions offensive coordinator? Scott Linehan, who holds that job with the Cowboys.

And Atlanta lost to Buffalo. At home. It happens. It's the NFL.

The offense was good enough to win 4 games. But 2 of those games were blown by the defense.

End of story.

Who's next on the schedule? Is it somebody we can beat?
