That's not an excuse. Daks contract is still terrible regardless of how they would have spent the money.Yeah, because he would know how to spend the money, right

Everybody making excuses minus Fish. Ball get punted and you turn and its bouncing toward you-you know your team didn't fumble it. Get away from the ball!!!! No! I want to be a hero and dive into the Kettle...At worse he'd be on the practice squad for the rest of this season if I had any voice in it.The Fish show tonight he was saying many times AO should be cut, he would cut him.
Also he said Stephen is full of crap on what he said. Fish was mad about these 2 things lol.
It doesnt matter to me, but I am surprised SJ would already be saying this. No reason to be saying this now.
Cowboys are a joke, I dont know how they keep their fans. Jones boys are made of teflon lol nothing sticks.
Not how they would have spend it, it’s how they would spend it in the futureThat's not an excuse. Daks contract is still terrible regardless of how they would have spent the money.
It's actually pretty depressing at this point because what Stephen Jones just told us is don't have much hope in our franchise again next year.-Sitting out free agency once again
-McCarthy most likely back (Zimmer too)
-Dak 1 year older and probably even less mobile
-No Overshown
Other teams have big contracts. Other teams also have smarter GMs who know how to work the cap better.Bad contracts made sure of that.
No surprise.
I still say the Patriots did it best. They would trade their best players for draft picks rather than pay them the next level of salary.Other teams have big contracts. Other teams also have smarter GMs who know how to work the cap better.
While we can point to a few players, the biggest issue with this team isn't our cap situation. It's the two idiots running the show.
Exactly what a lot of self proclaimed "football guru's" wanted. I hope they are as happy as they said they would be.I agree with the both of you guys but the reality is Jerry ain't about to let Dak individually cost over 89 million towards the cap next season.
History says otherwise. You know the drill. He'll restructure it and do the standard Jerry/Stephen kick the can down the road of continued crippling overpaid contracts.
"IF" he just woulda let it play out last year and not extend him...
What a ******* mistake.
4 more years.
Minimum.
They really need to just sell the team. To anybody. Anybody. How about all the dead Dak money that’s being pushed into 2030 and 2031?
When is the supposed window to win under the “secret sauce” plan?
These two are just pathetic. They aren’t at all qualified but happen to own the team and want to be celebrities.
The Deer in headlights reference used to be for playoffs and big games.-Dak 1 year older and probably even less mobile
Agreed. They really need to just sell the team. To anybody. Anybody.
Agreed. These are dark times to be a Boys fan. They just refuse to try to get better other than cross their fingers and hope they kill a draft class. They'll sign no one of note, they'll let some guys run off and then they'll claim the young guys on the roster and their draft picks will solve their issues. And then the 2025 season will be a repeat of 2024. We are entering an even darker era of Cowboys football than we've recently experienced.
I am actually getting close to just becoming nothing but a casual fan. Honestly, the worst part about that is I'd miss talking with you guys more than I would miss watching a mediocre product.
The Jones' have almost sucked all the fun out of being a Cowboys fan for me.
