Ezeiruaku on communication issues being a result of not playing in preseason

They were blowing assignments in the 4th quarter. You people really believe that a quarter for the starters was going to make a difference?

Being healthy > being fully prepared week 1.

Would a series have stopped Pickens from dropping that ball? No lol

One aspect of our problems is that with so many of our players have injury backgrounds that the FO is fearful, knowing that so many of their players are vulnerable to re-injury. Getting healthy players should be a priority of their preseason signings.

Unfortunately, they prefer to cut costs by signing players with frequent injuries in their past. It would seem wise to permit that to change. Otherwise, having players who can't make lengthy contributions will forever be a problem. This team's early regular season signings so far this year bear that out.

If nothing else it would help developing the final roster. I fully expect them to struggle another game or 2.

Two things will never change while Jerry is in charge.

Starters will not play PS games.
Curtains or tinted widows will never be used to deflect sun rays from hurting the team.
I am sure there are more.

An established player like Pickens is totally different from a bunch of young and new players in a different system playing for a rookie DC.

I just doubt it matters. You play a couple of series in preseason and it’s mostly playing cover 2 vs stick concept high percentage type of stuff.

You’re probably not showing a lot of your more complex match coverages that requires high level of communication and offenses aren’t showing their beater plays, high motion rates, etc. you’re not getting high energy crowds in preseason.

Plus if they just needed a few series to get things sorted out why didn’t the game get better in the 2nd half?

Pickens is no more established than Winters and Bland who blew assignments all night. Downs and Barham both played in preseason. What are we even doing.

You're also totally missing the point lol.

You think it makes no difference that one is playing for a new (rookie) coordinator and in a new system, and the other isn't. That's funny.

Pickens made a mental mistake. Who the coordinator is has nothign to do with it.
I agree, dropping a pass right in your hands doesn't depend on the coordinator. WR is one of the most independent positions on the field.

Multiple defensive players missing assignments and not communicating does indicate that they weren't coordinated well. Part of which can be from not enough reps in a new system you aren't familiar with.

typical missing the forest for the trees
why does Andy Reid play his starters
why do most other top coaches play their starters in pre season
makes you look bad, doesn't it?
