Note to the coaches, please give the team a series or two in the preseason. Thank you
at least a quarter.Note to the coaches, please give the team a series or two in the preseason. Thank you
Stop using logic.I just doubt it matters. You play a couple of series in preseason and it’s mostly playing cover 2 vs stick concept high percentage type of stuff.
You’re probably not showing a lot of your more complex match coverages that requires high level of communication and offenses aren’t showing their beater plays, high motion rates, etc. you’re not getting high energy crowds in preseason.
Plus if they just needed a few series to get things sorted out why didn’t the game get better in the 2nd half?
I'm not gonna spend a lot of time with you on this.
Tampa Bay Bucs preseason week 2. Mayfield and Irvin played.
Now what?
You’d know better than me for sure, but what I saw from him was serious over pursuit. Getting your brain and physical ability in line with NFL speed vs college can be a thing.None of them have anything to do with the coordinator, they just have to do with focus and discipline.
Barham played in preseason and blew a couple of assignments.
The idea that a quarter of preseason would have changed anything against the Giants is stupid. Idk what to tell you.
Cowboys edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku brings up the preseason when talking about the communication breakdowns: “Communication is two-way right. It’s giving and receiving. That’s just something we’ve got to tighten up. You know things are a little different when things are flying around on Sunday night as opposed to it being in practice or camp. First week is never clean. There are obviously going to be mistakes. I, mean, during the preseason, a lot of the starters didn’t really play.”
That wasn;t the point of my post. And I told lou i wasn't gonna put too much time on him about it. I answered his challenge. And they came out and sucked week 1...
I know you weren't asking MY opinion...You’d know better than me for sure, but what I saw from him was serious over pursuit. Getting your brain and physical ability in line with NFL speed vs college can be a thing.
That said, yeah the preseason may not have helped much in that regard, but every rep helps.
I think what this all boils down to…and please respond with your thoughts on this….is that this is gonna take a little while to come together, and we all wanted it to happen immediately, so we are disappointed to learn that the reality was very much fantasy.
There’s no way I’m not believing in this defensive group, but it might take another season to get it right, and the offense will take a hit one way or another by then.
I think Rockport was saying that playing the starters in preseason is not a good idea because you could get some starters injured, so it is not a good idea in his eyes.He is making excuses just like you do, you ignorant nincompoop.

ESPECIALLY if you have a new DC 75% new starters on Defense.OMG I’ve been saying this for years. stop not playing the starters in preseason. going back to last few years of garrett, Jones were like practice is enough, we don’t want them injured. BS they need in game time, so do the coaches on adjustments. If i was the coach id play them 1st Quarter min every game.
It's not Schotty's call. Coach Jones makes this call every year.Straight from one of the horses’ mouths.
Time to start listening, Schotty.
at least a quarter.
I agree with this. I wouldn't expect the defense to have any real polish before probably November.I think what this all boils down to…and please respond with your thoughts on this….is that this is gonna take a little while to come together, and we all wanted it to happen immediately, so we are disappointed to learn that the reality was very much fantasy.

If that's true they should be past the communications issues at this point. I'd like to believe that but I need proof.3 preseason games. If the D starters had just played just 1 series in each game, this complete D breakdown would not have happened.
