I've owned both breeds before and I've found both breeds to be sweet docile animals if they are raised right. Your accusations don't hold water with me.

Plenty of dog breeds out there which are not prone to violence. These dog breeds can turn in an instant and kill even when raised ‘right.’ Much much much less chance with other dog breeds. No real reason to have these breeds over other breeds. Plain and simple.

My wife is a nutritionist. I told her we should drink red wine because it is good for health. She said we could get the same benefit from eating grapes and other foods with none of the bad effects. A doctor on tv said the same thing a few days later after her. She is right.

Same with these breeds. If you want happiness from having a dog, you can get it from many safer breeds of dogs. People have these dangerous breeds for other reasons, none of which are good, none of which show care for their neighbors or people around them.

We own a German shepherd mix. When we got her, my mother, who lives in a section built onto our house, was deeply concerned because she was always taught that German shepherds are dangerous. Our dog is gentle and loving because we've taught her to be. She has a big bark that scares people and it's possible she might bite given the situation, but her reaction to people generally depends on our reaction to people (except those on drugs ... we've got a druggie house down the street and she barks hard at everyone who goes to and from it).

Not even close to the same thing. Vick purposely fought dogs for sport. Being a "bad dog owner" might warrant some fines but hardly like what Vick did.

People need to realize no matter how much you train a dog, they can bite at any time. But people are fooled that they won't so they automatically think any dog who bites means the owner is bad. The same concept that people believe any thing that a kid does reflects bad on the parents. No, sometimes kids and dogs do as they please no matter the upbringing.

That was my first thought. This doesn’t make sense. Rottweilers and Pit Bulls are aggressive dogs but there’s always a reason for it mainly protecting their pack and territory. This story doesn’t make sense.

Comparing Zeke to Vick is disingenuous. You’re comparing a guy who raised dogs to fight to the death to a guy who has them for pets but is just not a good dog owner. You’re better than that.

No. You could be in Japan all month. If your dog gets out and bites someone it's on you, not your dog sitter. You can sue the dog sitter for any losses however.

That seems like a big reach. Vick was involved in dog fighting. That's different than having vicious dogs.

It seems to me that if Elliott wants to keep those dogs, he needs to hire someone to come in and work with them who knows how to make them less aggressive.

He needs to get educated on dogs. If your not home most of the time, then you shouldnt even own a dog. Let alone 4 or 5 dangerous breeds.

Nonsense, there are no dog breeds that are naturally prone to violence. When cared for properly there is no dog breed that will turn in an instant. What you are talking about is pure ignorance just like when you tried to tell her your wife ya'll should drink red wine because it's good for good health. She knew you were wrong and corrected you. I'm going to do the same. I've raised from puppies Rotts, Chows, Shepards, Pits, my whole life, and none of them are prone to violence or snap to turn on you. It's a myth told by people that don't know how to raise dogs right, period.
