He is fatter and slower. I think he partied the off-season away and, then, when he got Goodelled, it snuffed out his fire.

You mean when JG was coordinator, Hudson Houck was OL coach, our OL was garbage and our main offense was no-huddle.. and teams were playing deep Cover 2 and hardly 8 or 9 in the box regularly..

Romo did it just fine in 2014..

Just stop comparing the two..
No there's no comparison. I'm not going to compare a 34 year old to a 23 year old.

My point is this team has always had problems making teams pay for blitzing. Never have.

Though 4 games Ezekiel Elliott averaging 3.6 yards per carry and is on pace 1108 yards rushing for the season.

I'll be honest, to my untrained eye he doesn't look any bigger despite repeated threads here on CZ that he has gotten fat.

What do you attribute his mediocre performance to this season? The court case? Lack of conditioning? Lack of cohesive offensive line play?
Blocking has killed him. Not the same team. Runners are as great as their OL. Ask Emmitt.

What is blitzing with free runners (Romo has nothing to do with that) in passing situations have to do with Dak struggling to not make teams pay against 8 and 9 man fronts set up to stop the run?

The offensive line has been a problem for both Dak and Zeke.
How was that allowed to happen? How could management miscalculate Leary's significance, and not spend resources to replace him?

On NFL.com they mentioned last week that according to next gen stats his top speed this season had been 17.83 mph. He topped 19 mph multiple times last year. That's pretty much the definition of a step slower.
But why? Is he hurt? Guy is only 22(?), he should have at least 5-8 years before he's losing a step. It's VERY obvious in person that he's slower.

TE blocking has been poor. I'd have to watch All-22 to see how the rest played. But some of this is our inability to stretch the field vertically. We can still stretch the field horizontally with the bootleg, but we seeto not want to run that as often.

We are not setting the edge as well this season which could be due to the LG and RT play. Although Tyron was not good today in pass pro, I'm worried about his back.

Try 21.5 mph

Spoiled and out of shape. He needed discipline from the FO..But got sympathy and excuses. Another Bryant in the making. He needs a good hard kick up his lazy backside. This ain't College ball.

Leary and Free leaving was devastating for this oline, they were monsters in the run game. Chaz totally sucks and Collins is a pass blocker, not really a run blocker.

Your observantion with Collins, from what I have seen so far, but I could be wrong is the exact opposite. Collins is MORE than adequate when he's got his hands on guys in the run game, he struggled against quickness and DE going buy him in passing situations..

Today was a typical Zeke performance. No matter what people say.
Well..he is out of shape at the very least. On that little pass to the left on 3rd down...last year he would have scored on that.

He was gassed from running the ball the previous two plays. There was no extra gear.

Honestly, I hate to say this because the guy is so talented, but I wouldn't be sad if he just disappeared.
