He's not getting mile wide holes to run thru

Thought he was overrated as blank last season. As I said then: he gets what's there. I never saw it from him.

I agree about his weight. Dak haters will say 9 in the box.
He gets what’s there???? You realize he had more yards after contact against the cardinals than actually yards right. He had 82 yards after contact and 80 actually yards

Nonsense.. close to 1000 yards of Elliott's yards last year were after the first hit. Elliott's best feature is his ability to get extra yards after the hit..

The difference now is he's getting hit by multiple defenders, because teams stack the box to stop him.. if he doesn't go down by the first hit, another guy is right there to clean it up..

Stop. You sound silly.

It's an overrated stat. What's contact? He's not Early Campbell. That's contact

A guy who gets his hand on Zeke while being blocked into the ground isn't real contact

Overrated stat

Your observantion with Collins, from what I have seen so far, but I could be wrong is the exact opposite. Collins is MORE than adequate when he's got his hands on guys in the run game, he struggled against quickness and DE going buy him in passing situations..

After Zeke ripped off a 15 yard run they went right back to the left side and guess whose man ran him down from the backside? Collins while he flopped on the turf...

Was that their jumbo stretch play that they run all the time that some people point out that we really suck at?

I'm not disputing you, what I did state is when he gets his hands on guys.. he's clearly struggling on space and trying to get chips on guys..

He needs to be playing guard.

Though 4 games Ezekiel Elliott averaging 3.6 yards per carry and is on pace 1108 yards rushing for the season.

I'll be honest, to my untrained eye he doesn't look any bigger despite repeated threads here on CZ that he has gotten fat.

What do you attribute his mediocre performance to this season? The court case? Lack of conditioning? Lack of cohesive offensive line play?

Replacing 40% of the starting offensive line and defenses determined to make the Cowboys beat them by throwing the ball.

I doubt the suspension BS hanging over his head is helping, either.

I can't recall if it was the Jumbo stretch or not. I was just disgusted with him bell flopping on the ground while his man tackled Zeke behind the line. That should be an ease reach and seal block for an oline when the play is going the opposite direction. I'm sure this isn't the first time either.

I agree he needs to go back to guard, and I'm pretty sure the fact that him being left handed isn't helping at all. Personally I think Green is a much better tackle

Too many passes are sailing on him. And simple ones at that.
The scheme isn't helping put players in position. It's too rigid and unimaginative.
Its very frustrating.
As far as OL is concerned 3 all pros plus 2 average guys should be mire than adequate to get things done.

In order

Subpar blocking by offensive line.
Defenses playing for the run.
Predictable play calling.
Maybe Elliott is slightly out of shape. He is panting every time the camera zooms in on him.

Incredibly worrying considering all the sources they've dumped into being able to have a dominant run attack.

He's a very good running back but I still wouldn't have spent a top 5 pick on anyone this side of maybe Barry Samders.

He is slowly getting in game shape. Hope he learns from this and stays away from the Romo off season workout plan.

Romo was in surgery and couldn't do any conditioning, which is why he looked slow the year he got injured and slid awkwardly as well..

And yet they aren't. I haven't looked at this game, but through three games right at half his carries he was hit behind the line of scrimmage.

This line is playing bad so far this year.

The Denver dud is dragging down his numbers. Other than that game, I think he's been fine.
