He played injured last year. He will be better this year and have something to prove no matter where he goes. Let’s not hope we play him at least twice a year. Went back and watched Zeke highlights from 2016. Man, it is such a selfish, unhealthy thing - running a RB into the ground like that. Sure Zeke did it to himself. So did MBIII. But there is nothing sexier in the NFL than watching a team with a stud RB cramming it down a defense's throat and watching a defense beg for mercy, completely helpless to stop the run.

The first is year 7 of Emmitt, the second is year 7 (last season) of Zeke. Emmitt played for a better team that won the SB so we perceive similar production differently.

Zeke will never be Emmitt, but the notion that he can no longer help any team seems overplayed on this board.

That was more than 2 decades ago. The running game is much different today than it was in 1996 due to shifts to passing and defensive schemes. The average yards per rush in 1996 was 3.8 and last year it was 4.5. Give Emmitt an adjusted average based on today's average and he would be closer to 4.4. Its hard to compare across decades, but that's the best I could do. The only thing similar here is their age profile when the numbers declined.

I'm certainly of the belief a player that scores 12 tds in back to back seasons has something to give, but we'll see what he truly has left next season.

Are we sure these teams want him? Jets have a solid group of RBs on rookie deals, Eagles have Gainwell, Scott and Penny, Bengals seem like the only team out of the three that might consider signing him on the cheap.
