I don't see that, especially with the other safeties we're trying to sign. I think the plan is to have Wilson at SS, Kazee/Hooker at FS and Neal at WLB. So our base alignment would essentially have three safeties, two corners, two linebackers and four linemen on the field (actually a 4-25), if we're counting Neal as a safety despite him being considered the WLB. Our nickel would be three corners, three safeties, one linebacker and four linemen (which is a dime), again counting Neal as a safety.
I think the thought process is that Neal can play linebacker while providing safety-type coverage skills, not that he can replace one of the safeties.
