I believe he still can be. He was killing it his first 2 games. Then the media circus started, the team was performing horribly. A lot of factors came into play. Let's not forget. He was off of football a year.

Peterson was out for the same amount of time, so was Lee, and they came back and played pretty well.....

Which is why you have this stance.

Here's a lock for you, Winicki. Take this to your nearest bank. Barring any injury situation, Ezekiel Elliott will have a much greater impact in the NFL than Jalen Ramsey.

I'll denote that fact if they take Ramsey.

This mock had us taking him at 7. Why are you even talking about 4?

I wouldn't take a back in the 1st round. Period.

There are other areas of the team that need far greater help like the defensive line (DE especially) and the secondary.

If a franchise QB is there at #4 (or at #7) then you take them.

If not... then defense.

Ok. Again. This mock had us re signing hardy. So the need got DE is there, but not at the forefront

Hardy and Gregory are ticking "time-bombs". Counting on either of them is scary.

That being said the secondary is the worst unit on the entire team. There's already a 1,000 yard rusher on the team. There's a couple 1,000 yard rushers that can be signed for on the cheap. On top of that running backs have a short shelf life compared to other positions...

It would take a great deal to convince me that taking Elliot at #7 would be the prudent thing to do.

I genuinely believe Ezekiel Elliot will not make it out of the top 10. If the Egirls don't take him at #8, which I doubt, the Gnats will at #10.

He's likely to be playing in the NFC East, so we should get plenty of evidence to settle the looming battle between Val Kilmer & Groucho.

Well. When he is killing us for thr next decade playing for either the Giants or Eagles we will re visit this conversation. Elliott will be the best rookie in thr NFL this season.

And I had us taking weddle as well. Which will boost our secondary quite a bit. This isn't a debate about Elliott. Did you look at the entire post or no? Lol

So in other words if I get hit by lightning on leap year day while wearing a Superman costume, then the Cowboys will select Elliot at #7.

OK, I'm in.

if either the giants or eagles select Elliot the cowboys will be watching them win the division for several years to come.

Zeke plus a high 2nd rounder >>>>>> Zeke at 4

No brainier there IF you actually plan to take him. I agree.
Nobody is drafting him before 8...and maybe 10 or much later. So taking him at 4 would be very wasteful. Jmo

As for the rest, I'll let others chime in.
I do agree with the poster who says no way we re-sign Hardy.

I say we trade up to 1 and take the best LS in the draft.

Then, and only then, can we truly confirm that Jerrah needs to be committed.

Any draft that had us picking a lazy druggie who is also a goofball (nkemdiche) is major fail

Add in Ramsey and this is basically a house on fire

Von Miller was a druggie, one they got him under control, how did that work out?

You don't make major decisions based on exceptions

You make them based on probabilities

There were reports that he had some of the worst interviews ever at the combine and lied during interviews. Is that the guy you want ?

Unbelievable

Personally I don't care what he does, as long as he doesn't get suspended and helps the team. I could care less what he does in his off time. You want a team full of choir boys?
