FA Spending Correlation With Winning

This argument is funny. Especially when Carr, Church, and Wilcox account for a 20 million dollar cap hit.

Who's not overspending this year again?

Carr's the outlier there, and his deal will get done, or he'll be on a different program the year after, regardless. He's definitely an example of overspending, but he's also the reason we've changed up the model in the years since. It's just taken time to work him off the books.

We're 14th in the league this year in team spending at SS. That's with Church's balloon year. 18th at FS, and 14th, combined. That's with Byron factored at CB, btw, and with Jeff Heath's deal added in. That's not so bad as a position group.

The problem is that our production from that group is not good enough.

Then that is asinine since you can cut someone right now and designate them as a June 1st cut, especially Carr. That is a benefit.

So you think we should carry the salary forward into the season and absorb more liability?

I'm not sure how I said any of that.

Did you read what I posted?

You're right. You don't manage a business year to year.

You manage it daily. Especially in a billion dollar competitive market.
While that sounded snappy.... Clearly you've never set strategy for an organization.

You manage risk daily. You think long-term.

"You think long term bro." Is that what you say in the weekly strategic management staff meetings?
