Could have been one of those plays where you do it in practice a couple of times and you tell the punter "if you get this look from the D and you think it looks like it might work, go for it".

Punter thought he got a good look from the D, so he pulled the trigger...............neither Fat Mike or Bones actually "called" the fake at that point, but it could have been a player's option.

If they are giving the punter the option to make boneheaded calls, they all need to be fired.

Exactly . 4th & 9 too far on a fake punt . It’s a cumulation of 5 yrs of this HC this staff I’m convinced will not advance this team .

Look at these collection of young receivers Dallas goes through annually, none seem to progress .

I ask because both MM and Bones acted like they were surprised by it.
Maybe wrong play was called? or whoever gets the info on something like that, thought they called one lol.
It was weird.
Decent pass, but guy was covered again lol and no way it was long enough.

How many yds did they need? they got 4 yds which isnt much.

THOMAS you do realize before you start these posts you should probably actually keep up with the Dallas Cowboys media they dress this right after the game the players have some latitude and when they can call fake punts if they see any of one of three alignments he saw it he called it he admitted it it was not the coaches and who cares anyway i thought you guys wanted a tank job, aren't you supposed to be clapping fopr bad plays!

so i don't know why you guys keep commenting on coaches , IT WAS THOMAS who called it!! ....you don't even keep up with media and real news right after the game, that evening they found out and reported this....

This is true of literally every team. Some of you act like everything the Cowboys do is sooooo unique.

this is what fish said, that every team has that, and that houston baited the punter who can make the call.
He also said the ST coach could overrule it but I dont know how that would work.

Also I dont think the punter should be able to call that deep in your own end of field, that should be the ST coach.
