It's not that bad for a team like the Colts, Titans or Ravens. A 15.3 and an 11.5 mil. cap hit over the next two years. But pointless for teams that aren't going to be contenders.

The Colts can easily fit him under the cap.

The Titans would have to clear all of that space.

The raven would have to clear some space. But don't they have to sign Lamar to extension this year?

....and what do you think they would give up in return for taking on his contract? Not much. Thats the point.

Quite possible. I just assumed they would since they picked up his 5th year option. But they didn't extend Jameis Winston after picking up his option, so who knows?
Brooks has mention the Ravens might let him Graduate. Which makes sense, if he can't develop as passer it might be smart since all the abuse he will take running will really makes a Dak like extension risky.

This would be so stupid for ATL. Everything they've done to this point in the offseason is around winning now...and then they're going to say that they want to trade their best player? Let's even say that Pitts is as good as Julio (which, no), how is your team improved from last year? It's not even early enough in the offseason for the cap dollars to matter at all this year. So it's a move for next year?

That's all besides the fact that the return for Julio isn't going to be earth shattering. There's very little market for a player like that.

It's a money dump, and well discussed on The Athletic and Jeff Schultz if you all have a subscription.

At this point, they can't sign Kyle Pitts or any of their draft picks.

And the Falcons know they won't get value for him, and most of the crowd of sharks circling around the team are trying to see how much of Julio's salary the Falcons are willing to eat.
