Number of false starts for our OL, 17 games (including playoffs)...

1) Marc Colombo, 12

2) Flozell Adams, 10

3) Leonard Davis, 2

4) Andre Gurode, 1

5) Kyle Kosier, 0

I love when perception doesn't meet reality. Raise your hand if you knew our biggest false start offender in '07 was none other than Marc Colombo, and NOT our Pro Bowl LT who many can't wait to replace.

Well it is not like there is a significant difference between the two. How was Flo over the last 3 years compared to over LTs around the league?

They are both to high for the tackles...but they are also farthest from the QB, and have to deal with the major quality on the other side.

Man, Just call Kosier steady Eddie.

How the hell does the center get a false start!? I guess he started to snap it, but decided not too. Hope he has been working on his shotgun snaps this offseason.

What I usually see is he jerks his head up in a way that the officials conclude "simulates a snap" without actually snapping the ball.

The only significant difference is that Flozell gets blasted constantly for his false starts, but you never hear a peep about Colombo's.

Yeah instead of the false starts you might just trade those in for critical sacks on Romos blindside.

That might not happen but you've got to figure that just because you're potentially getting rid of the false starts there is the potential there for more sacks on Romo as well.

If it makes you feel better I hate Colombo jumping offside’s as much as I do Flo jumping. After all unlike the defensive lineman the Offense knows what the snap count in on. Dallas had way too many flags this past season and they all have to cut down on these penalties if we expect to get to the next level.

Not just more sacks, more blind-side sacks, which have a much higher chance of being fumbles. Plus more hits in general on Romo, greatly increasing his injury risk.

But who cares about that stuff!? Flozell was 2ND on our team in false starts!!! I HATE when he jumps! GRRRR!

You can´t have two false starts experts in your starting O-line. We just went with the younger one. Sometimes you just have to move on. We have young and talented guys to replace Flozel.

If the coaches felt Flo was irreplaceable and that Free or McQ could not do the job I would think Dallas would step up and pay Flo as they did before.

i doubt if jerry jones would let Romo have unprotected security on his left side, if anything we could move davis overthere, who had a solid year and replace him, like i said I'm sure jerry will make the right moves, and hopefully its with giving Flo the chance to leave, if Flo has one more serious injury in 2008 I say his career is over, and if he's with us while he gets that injury we are doomed

like PAcy says we had 2 OL, that combined has 22 false starts in 2007 you throw that many false starts in to any season, and we are gonna struggle, ask any team....

Im not saying either way but it just seems like Flozells false starts come at critical times.

I know it doesn't make an excuse for Colombo but I would like to see a break down of what down and distance it was when the false start happened.

Moving Davis is a HUGE mistake. He's not NEARLY as good at LT as he is at RG and moving him doesn't help anything anyway. Then you're going to be a little better at LT, than you might be with Free or McQ (And of course one of them might come ina nd render this worry completely useless) but then you're downgrading your RG spot significantly. So while he'll be able to see more of the hits coming, he's still getting hit.

Hopefully Free or McQ can come in and be really rock solid and none of this worry will matter but simply thinking just because we've gotten rid of Adams "false starts' that it makes it a good deal is foolish. You also have to factor in that it's very likely the new LT will give up more sacks that Flo did as well.

Coaches miss on players all the time. I'm not going to pretend I know better for the organization than they do, but I'll be nervous as hell if Free or McQuistan is our starting LT next year.

I just don't see the logic in letting a Pro Bowl LT walk... there's a reason they make as much money as they do. They're EXTREMELY important and the good ones aren't easy to replace.

And they'd better not even THINK about moving Leonard Davis to LT!

I can understand being a bit nervous but seeing doom and gloom forecast in my view seems a bit overboard and premature. Who is too say Free may end up being better than Flo? Like you I don't get the chance to see these guys throughout the season but the coaches do and I really don't think they would allow Flo to walk if they thought Free or McQ could not step in and do the job.
