Flo gave up 3.5 sacks this year which is among the lowest of all Left tackles
Tony Romo escaped quite a few that would have been sacks by Flo.

Are false starts by tackles highly correlated to passing plays?

most of the people who bash Flo for false-starting have no idea why he does it

he's trying to beat the DE off the snap, and he does a great job at it, considered out of over 300 plays, he gave up what? 4 sacks and had 10 false-starts

I say it's worth it

Wow. Anybody else notice a direct correlation with proximity (or lack thereof) to the QB?

Can someone find Flos false start record for thhe last few years and his last contract year, just wondering if there is a correlation between money being available and amount of concentration during a game. My hunch is that there probably is a strong link.

Will people stop listening to the national media guys about moving Bigg to LT - one of the stupidest ideas I have heard this offseason and I include trading MBIII and our 2 1st rounders for Miamis first.

I can understand being a bit nervous but seeing doom and gloom forecast in my view seems a bit overboard and premature. Who is too say Free may end up being better than Flo? Like you I don't get the chance to see these guys throughout the season but the coaches do and I really don't think they would allow Flo to walk if they thought Free or McQ could not step in and do the job.

Ok what if Flo gets injured for a serious number of games or one day retires, then what? McQ or Free are being groomed for a reason. They might be come pretty good starting Olinemen.

This all depends on Flo settling for a reasonable new contract.

oh yah we knew he wasn't leading the cowboys in flase starts, Flo just leads the whole world in false starts......get rid of him i say, won't miss his false starts in critical times

Did all 10 of his false starts occur in critical times?

I don't see that his problems or the perception of his problems with false starts as that big of a deal. If you are listings the cons for keeping Flo in Dallas, false starts should not be at the top. If they are at the top then I think the case is made to keep him. His probable salary and his age are more important and will determine if he is in Dallas much more than his false starts. And with those he still may end up coming back to Dallas.

If he was leading the league in holding penalties, then there would be true problems. Flo's false starts are a pretty minor issue in the whole scheme of things.

Number of false starts for our OL, 17 games (including playoffs)...

1) Marc Colombo, 12

2) Flozell Adams, 10

3) Leonard Davis, 2

4) Andre Gurode, 1

5) Kyle Kosier, 0

I love when perception doesn't meet reality. Raise your hand if you knew our biggest false start offender in '07 was none other than Marc Colombo, and NOT our Pro Bowl LT who many can't wait to replace.

Now..

break that down and tell me on what downs they occured on.

I'll pretty sure most of Flo's came on 2nd and 3rd down..which were drive killers.

Also, I'd be interested in 15 yd, holding penalties, I'd be pretty positive Flo lead in those for the OL as well. And again, I'd bet them to be 2nd and 3rd down infractions.

Again, drive killers all.
