It’s almost like a us against the Jones type mentality I’m living in. I hope the team does well but don’t care about them.

Exactly. Hoping Schotty does well and being frustrated at Jerry are not mutually exclusive. I'm annoyed at how Jerry has run the team. I'm rather frustrated. But it's not Schotty's fault. He deserves support as the HC, and I will give him a much support as I can.

I mean there are a bunch of internet memes about the cycle of Dallas Cowboys fandom. We are in the acceptance of dysfunction phase of that cycle, about to enter full on denial. By the the time training camp starts, there will probably be Super Bowl talk around here again.

People post about what they had for lunch. They post about car crashes. They post about anything that twirls their beanie.
But it's what they are posting that tells you how they feel, and more and more the message is one of apathy.
They just don’t care anymore.
Lol!!

Why watch if you expect to lose every game...of course, most fans will be hopeful.

our fanbase is pretty much preppy NIMBY types. You aren't gonna get anywhere close to the vitriolic hatred of the organization as fanbase like the Eagles where death threats are probably very common.

Was this because they had a full service buffet at the back of the room?
quick story about presser. In my truck i listen to 660 WFAN in NY. When i started truck yesterday, the lady was wrapping up a sports update. And she says....

"and finally, at the cowboys press conference yesterday it took jerry jones 11 minutes to try to answer the first question. But isn't that what the cowboys do? Talk alot without much success? "

But they keep posting and posting and posting. That means to do care. Even if they say they don’t care.

It is like a guy I know, says he doesn’t care about his ex wife, but yet that is all he talks about.
Another person hates Jerry Jones like most do on here. He hates the Cowboys. He would fit in well here. But yet that is all he talks about. And some of the stuff he says, I tell him in front of everyone he is an idiot. Which he really is.

It lasted all of about 2-3 days. I really don't understand how anyone right now can get excited to post anything Cowboys right now....I realize that we have to move on, but fans as usual have pretty much already accepted this S show without doing anything. I'm already hearing local talking heads attempting to justify Chuckles "drought" comments....I honestly believe, that 105.3 The Fan radio hosts have been warned again. Just a sad state of affairs....pathetic.
Are you kidding me? Nothing excites the fans of CowboysZone more than negativity.
This is literally nirvana for them.

What are you talking about? The vast majority of comments are negative.

What do you expect people to do? Take off work to go picket The Star?

I cant speak for anyone else, but I largely checked out of being a cowboys fan. I used to spend a lot of time on this site and could name everyone on the roster. Its still a great site and community but my apathy and frustration over the franchise got to the point where i no longer wanted to spend my sundays caring.

It took a few years for me to to go from a fan for decades to a total check out. There were a few decisions that I really didnt agree with like. To highlight a few:

-amari cooper trade
-dak contract (and how do you ever let a player have a no trade clause?)
-mcarthy as coach
-stephen jones being involved in the team at all in a meaningful capacity is tremendously demoralizing. I wouldnt hire him for any role on my team.
-decision to not draft a rb when guys like braellon allen were available for cheap

I took last season off watching games after they didnt replace mcarthy after that playoff loss to the packers. That was one of the worst games i have ever watched. If that didnt cause a hard look in the mirror and shake things up then nothing will.

Im not sure I will ever come back around to being a diehard fan again. New coach seems like an absurd hire. Was he on any college or nfl teams short list? I doubt it.

We need some adults in the front office. Charlotte Jones seems pretty smart maybe she can find a way to seize control after Stephen derps off into the sunset.

Im not sure about next season. Thinking about taking another year off completely.

I remember when we used to laugh at the eagles.

This season I didn't watch one game of the Cowboys. I actually felt good about it not caring about a team that the owners could care less about winning. If they don't care why should we?

It felt good to do something else on Sunday than watch a train wreck happen.

Our fan base is soft and a bunch of suckers. Maybe I'm too hard on us but we will see when the season starts. Most of y'all will be drinking the Kool aid again just for the train to crash off the tracks the same way for the 30th year in a row.
Cowboys fans are a weak bunch. They won't stand up for what they believe is best for the team and they won't walk away from the team that has mentally abused them for years. Looking back I am so glad I got the heck off that emotional roller coaster ride. Watching the games on Sunday and being mad until Wed is no way to enjoy the NFL.
Play fantasy football and you will find yourself cheering for all kinds of different players around the league.
Too many old schoolers are suffering in silence trying to remain loyal.
It's actually fun to be standing on the other side predicting at how Dak will choke against a Cardinals or Broncos team. Pointing out all his flaws and seeing these clowns try to defend him like he is thier wife.

I've accepted the fact that this is no longer A. Dynasty, or even a premier team in the NFL
If we have a bad year and I am predicting we will. I will enjoy just watching Jerry squirm like a frail fart..

I don't think its been non existent, I just think people are more tuned out than outraged. Most fans see through the BS at this point, and have become more apathetic than surprised by Jerry & Stephens actions. Training camp attendance was down last year, and that trend probably continues. Given the dip this year in the resale market we might see ticket sales slow down as well unless the Cowboys actually make a splash move this offseason.
Apathy is the word I'd use as well.
Apathy always comes before anger.

So yeah, fans are in the don't give a damn, can't change it phase

You don’t want to revolt against a narcissist. You ignore them and don’t give them attention. They feed off the latter, whether good or bad, so you just treat them like they don’t matter anymore.

Talking heads/media/social media influencers have a vested interest in keeping Cowboys fans engaged. We'll know if there is a revolt if Oxnard is empty.

Fwiw, metric numbers are down on all the DC.com media content.
I expect low attendance in Oxnard for sure....and when this team gets off to a slow start....attendance will dwindle....then the real crattering will begin. It's gonna get real ugly in 2025. And the call for the Joneses to sell the team enormous.
