You got it with the release of Ken Hamlin last year. No "big plays," not a "playmaker," not a "ballhawk."

Well, here is what it got you with Alan Ball, who is obviously in over his head.

Anyone miss Ken Hamlin? Last time I checked he wasn't repeatedly giving up big passing plays or touchdowns in the red zone when he was here.

I miss Hamlin and Carp. Even though they weren't great players, they were better than their replacements.

So what you're saying is, you don't have to have superstar talent at every position to have a good football team?

I dont think any of us said replace Hamlin with a worse player or that any of us wanted Ball to replace him. That one is all Wade.

People though we would upgrade at the position, not downgrade. They thought we would at least get Atogwe.

Rangers are about to be on... Just forget about this crap that is the Cowboys.

Exactly. Nobody wanted Ball. Clearly, he has no business playing at all.

Yeah, I would say that is true. I think it is just as important to avoid glaring holes in your defense or offense as it is to find highly skilled stars.

Wait.

Ken Hamlin is the face of accountability?

You're kidding?

Please tell me you aren't serious.

There's a number of players who basically piss on your Ken Hamlin angle by starting week in and week out no matter how crappy they play.

Very, very INTERESTING.

I agree, nake.

Isnt Hamlin a FA? I could of sworn he was released a few weeks ago.

Read the topic: fans wanted accountability. Go back and read the threads (dcfanatic in particular with his personal crusades against different players every once in a while) about Jerry needing to show there's "accountability" for substandard play, and that starting with Ken Hamlin should be one of the first moves.

I'm not saying I think it is. I think accountability is sorely lacking in the entire organization, but I'm just saying the fans clamored for his release without any real plan in place in a year with an uncertain CBA...this is what you get.

They re-signed him. He picked off Tom Brady last week.

And at what price? Draft picks? We might not have been able to land Dez Bryant.

And fans are making the same mistakes now. Let's get rid of Colombo, Barber, Davis, etc. -- basically everyone that isn't an all-pro.

You don't release talent unless you have an adequate replacement.

I forget the details. But I believe he was a legit FA after a certain point. but we were scared by his shoulder

I think we might have a replacement for Davis if we pursue Mankins in the offseason. I've never been one to jump on the bandwagon for a free agent, but if Mankins is, I think we should try to get him. He's a proven and consistent player that's still got plenty of years left on him.

The whole time he never intended to sign anywhere else.
