My point is that the simulators are not realistic. They should at least offer an option to use "tight" rankings on the simulators If they are using the CBS board I tend to think that they should be with 1/2 of a round between the simulator and the actual CBS board.

not sure why you think that.

every year guys picked after the top 30 picks start to see precipitous falls.
especially at rb or any positions where there is significant depth of near equal value.

how many teams want to draft RBs?
the value of a back up RB is definitely not round 2.
so unless you need a starter you probably pass a guy like Coleman even if he is your top rated player.

much easier for most teams to pick a DT rated 65 over a RB rated 52 IMHO.

if dallas is willing to pass on rb in rounds 1 and 2 i absolutely believe they could be rewarded with a good rb value at 91.

EVERY draft some players drop or raises more than draft "experts" say they will.

Does it mean it is likely to happen...no, but it does not mean it will not.

I do recall us passing on Witten for two rounds when many thought he was a first round player....nobody would have said he would last to the third round pick...I am darn glad he did but it is just an example.

with a draft so deep in RBs I do think it's realistic Coleman or Ajayi could fall to the 3rd. I personally think I would strategize my draft with that in mind, and wait till the 3rd to grab one or the other. If they both are gone, David Johnson will be there on day 3. Or you could grab Duke Johnson or one of the others. I mean how many teams want to draft a RB in the first two days in the draft...

Yeah, that seems like a solid plan. Especially considering we have three/four veteran RBs already on the roster (depending on Randle).

I could definitely see us getting a complementary guy like Duke, or a chain mover like Langford or Allen, to fill out our backfield as opposed to a complete guy

Well, in that case here is my mock:
27: Leonard Williams
60: Todd Gurley
91: Eric Kendricks
127: Michael Bennett
163: Damarious Randall

Just because someone argues a point with you and you do not like it...does not mean you have to go into sarcastic hyperbole post to act foolish.

First time I think I smiled at drafting a punter

I agree...that late a dominant punter like Loomis would mean an upgrade for our team.

really, that's a pretty solid draft all around.

I know...I know.:p
But really, in this case, I'd bet he'd have a better shot at helping us than anyone else we could take there.

The dude might even make a special teams tackle or two if they don't have to fair catch everything.

the hilarity there is the only one of those not just silly, is in fact gurley at 60.
a questionable or incomplete medical report (which is far form unrealistic) could see him land at 60.

sometimes you get lost in the trees man.
this isn't that hard.
RB's drop.
dropping from late 2nd to late 3rd round is not shocking or unusual at RB.

suggesting we get leonard williams at 27 would be goofy (and also NEVE rhappens in any mock draft).
saying a RB like coleman fell to 91 is just a lucky break(that does happen in about 1 in 10 mock drafts).

Having a beast Punter is vastly underrated in my opinion. Those extra 10 yards in field position can be the difference between the opposition making a FG or converting that extra 3rd down and scoring a TD.

In the past i have picked a punter in the 7th round in mock drafts...last year it was easy to do with multiple picks.

But I think the team figures they can get an undrafted guy (if they want another one) and not waste it on a punter/kicker.

I don't remember the last time they used a pick on a punter or kicker.

I have seen people post simulator mocks with Leonard Williams at #27.

I have seen simulator mocks with those players in similar spots including Leonard Williams at #27.

Obviously, I have not seen any with all of them together, but based on simulator results, it's not impossible.

My issue is that I miss the days when people would put together their own mocks with some thought as to where players would actually be drafted.

I have yet to see a mock with Leonard at #27 using a CBS big board on the Fanspeak mocks. But it could be possible...shariff floyd was a top ten pick last year until he was not.

How like you just noted...not all of those picks are going to fall to one team at the places you put them all.

I Could see telvin falling to the third due to the number of RBs in this draft. The one I do not see falling would be Kendricks to the third. I think the Cowboys might take him in the first if he even falls to them...if not they snatch him up in the second.

I seen one mock (not hear but on a mock draft site and I can't remember which one but I posted on here some weeks ago) that had the Cowboys taking Telvin with their first round pick without trading down.

I find the chance of getting him in the third more likely than in the first but it is out there.

You'd be surprised. Not that long ago really. I think they drafted that guy that kicks for the jets, for example.

In the pre-simulator days, the best part of mocks drafts, IMO, was how they invoked discussion of where players would or wouldn't be available.

With the simulators, that part of the discussion has faded.

You are talking about Folk but after thinking about it we took another one later....I forgot about the "Special Teams" draft...

I think the best part of these draft simulation mock drafts is that people who might not normally know about the later round guys, start doing some research because they want to do a better job at picking a good guy.

I see them as a useful too just to learn a little about the later rounds but for the most part they are just entertaining and a way to pass the time for many.
