You are talking about Folk but after thinking about it we took another one later....I forgot about the "Special Teams" draft...

David Buehler, 2009 ?

I did learn something when watching Buehler. I always assumed that a kicker with big distance but poor accuracy just needed to back off on how hard he kicked the ball; however, I found that everything was different with the way that Buehler kicked in terms of technique starting with where he placed his plant foot and including how much angle he had on his leg swing and how fast he approached the ball. All of those things were exaggerated with Buehler's technique. I've noticed more of the accurate kickers in recent years going with less angle on the leg swing (i.e. closer to straight ahead kicking).

Yeah...Beuhler.

In the past i have picked a punter in the 7th round in mock drafts...last year it was easy to do with multiple picks.

But I think the team figures they can get an undrafted guy (if they want another one) and not waste it on a punter/kicker.

I don't remember the last time they used a pick on a punter or kicker.

The man, the myth, the legend David Beuhler(sp).

First draft at that fanspeak site using cbs sports. Here's how it went.

I actually forgot I scored Gurley in the 1st when I made that 5th round pick.

I have seen simulator mocks with those players in similar spots including Leonard Williams at #27.

Obviously, I have not seen any with all of them together, but based on simulator results, it's not impossible.

My issue is that I miss the days when people would put together their own mocks with some thought as to where players would actually be drafted.

I haven't seen that but the point is fair.

I generally trust the "make believe" boards better than the "random dude" boards tho.

Before fanspeak the mocks would look a heck of a lot more like your dream scenario than they do after fanspeak stuff IMHO.

I do absolutely agree the value of the board you use is important or else it is just wasted effort.

I stepped out of the Mel Kiper Invitational thingy because we did it too early and the data seemed poor.
It was kinda funny seeing A drafts end up with players drafted far later and C drafts with 3 or 4 guys that went int he actual top 100.
Most draftniks have pet caps and grade or mock accordingly. --myself included.
So the boards and automating 31 other teams at least keep us somewhat honest.

But again I get if you don't like it all that much.

I think this is a good example why the Cowboys may be better off not drafting a RB in round 1 even if Gurley is staring at them.

I am not sure even if the guy is great he gets a 2nd contract here.

Dorial Green Beckham was an interesting option that fell to 27 as well.

Love the first 4 picks, though I think Kevin Johnson will be gone by then.

Don't like O'Leary.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should take him, but he was siting there in the 5th and it won't surprise me if they take a TE. Nobody is mocking them, but it could happen. As for Oleary, I'm not overly impressed either, but the 5th seemed like ok value. I couldn't find a worthy lineman. Maybe a tade down in the real world.

Would you take a 2nd CB before him if the value was right?

Maybe I am thinking of someone else. But didn't Oleary look much better the year prior and have a down year this season.

Absolutely. We have far more talent at TE than we do at CB.

I'd also look at the FBs available. That's a position where a rookie can come in and make an impact immediately.

Tevin Coleman will go in the first round after his pro day on April 15th so all of these mocks are nonsense.

He seemed to fade some late this year.
He was considered maybe a 2nd rounder at on point.
I think he'll be in the league a long time, but he's not as dynamic as some of the others. Everyone's looking more for the Jimmy Graham's instead of the Jason Wittens (not saying he's that good though, but that's yoke of all around player)

It wouldn't surprise me if none of those first 5 picks are there where I took them. lol
Carden was more for fun. Love the guy's intangibles and accuracy, but he may not have an NFL arm.. Just a homer pick for fun.
