About the 4 current TE's on the roster. And 5 TE's that could be on their radar, and a 6th honorable mention prospect.

Top listed TE is Michael Mayer from ND, for the article top listed anyway. I believe he is the TE @CowboyRoy has been posting about.
Mentions Kincaid, then Washington and a few others.
I’m zoning in on Darnell Washington as my pet cat and first pick if a trade down offer presents itself.

I think he checks off a lot if what our offense needs:

1. Want to improve the running game? Draft a great blocker.

2. Want to help the quarterback and passing game? Draft a 6’7” target who presents a matchup nightmare.

3. Want to allow Ferguson and Hendershot to focus on what they do best? Draft a TE who loves to do the oft-overlooked dirty work.

Yes I like what I seen in Washington also. And like his size, we need that type of a player and size that can become a true red zone, end zone threat. Been lacking that for years. Actually since Dez has been gone, and Witten aged.

I’m thinking TE is likely in round 1, just because Mayer and Kincaid are top prospects that could conceivably fall to us. They could easily both be gone by 26 as well.

It’s funny, I’m zeroing in on two players in particular.

Washington - who is the guy the team hoped that Rico Gathers could have been.

And CB Cory Trice - who I feel is the guy the were hoping Nahshon Wright could have been.

If they don't take one early, it wouldn't surprise me if they drafted Payne Durham from Purdue.

We could very possibly draft a TE with our first pick. It would be hard to pass up Dalton Kincaid if he’s there. He’s in the mold of Kelce, and Kittle. That would add a lot of punch to our passing game and help Dak. I get that our young TE’s have potential, but you can’t pass up a dynamic playmaker especially at number 26.

Washington and Payne (as Full Back) would be a devastating Run Attack . . . And Payne would be the perfect "Tom Rahman" in a West Coast Scheme

I wouldn’t be upset at that pick. He may very well be someone whose is still getting better and best days are ahead.

If they get him Kearse needs to give back that zero lol. A big target with an actual bulls eye on his chest may be exactly what Prescott needs!

It wouldn’t at all be a sexy pick but could very well have a bigger immediate impact than anyone you’re getting at 26.

I’m still hoping for one of the interior OL….best chance to find an impact starter long term in the late 20s, but Washington may very well be a major run blocking improvement and develop into a receiving threat in time.

I like Durham a lot.
I am not a 100% sure what Big Mike has up His sleeve but From what I have read He wants a Fullback. Even as an H Back Durham is unique in His approach at Blocking

I am holding my breath for Him

I admittedly am paying much less attention to this draft than usual, so I just now took a quick look into Washington.

How is this guy not ranked higher than he is? Did he murder someone? Talk about upside? Wow. I mean, wow. I realize everyone’s highlight reel is great, but this guy looks like clear big time talent.

He would tremendously help the run game immediately and be a red zone mismatch…at worst case.

Jerry was in love with Kyle Pitts, and while Washington may not be quite the athlete Pitts is, we are talking top 5 pick vs bottom 5. He is probably very much on their radar.

If it goes something like….Washington at 26, Avila at 58, a fresh-legged RB and a shifty slot receiver mid rounds….this offense can be a really good one if MM is true to his word….and Jerry allows it of course.

That’s exactly what I see. He’s not as developed as the other top names, but he has the ability to be the best of the bunch.

I’d like an interior offensive lineman too hopefully with that next pick.

I have not paid as much attention as usual either. I will take a closer look in the next few days and the days leading unto the draft. But still may not get as much into it. Will just see how it falls out most likely. Then read all the opinions afterwards.

Love it. Had to turn off the Washington highlights because now I’m gonna be pissed if we don’t get him lol.

What’s the deal with him? Not as polished as Kincade or Mayer?

If either are there and nothing else special is there, I take them. Unless they reach for a Drew Sanders or the 2nd RB behind Bijan.

No. He played alongside Brock Bowers, who many believe will be a generational talent at the position. Washington was often tasked to do the dirty work in 12 personnel packages.

So he is undervalued due to his team situation? Yeah I suppose they are kinda loaded lol.

He goes and gets contested passes. That’s a very good thing for Dak. I mean, very, very much so.

We could use a red zone threat after losing Elliott.

There’s also no way he isn’t a top blocker in the run game, which I’ve been crying for since people began trying to convince me that Schultz is a great TE.

I’m all in. At 26 in fact.

Know what else….he does have a chance to be a merch seller, so that helps the cause. Jerry may have to call Kearse and get that zero back, but nothing he isn’t familiar with doing lol.
