So he is undervalued due to his team situation? Yeah I suppose they are kinda loaded lol.

He goes and gets contested passes. That’s a very good thing for Dak. I mean, very, very much so.

We could use a red zone threat after losing Elliott.

There’s also no way he isn’t a top blocker in the run game, which I’ve been crying for since people began trying to convince me that Schultz is a great TE.

I’m all in. At 26 in fact.

Know what else….he does have a chance to be a merch seller, so that helps the cause. Jerry may have to call Kearse and get that zero back, but nothing he isn’t familiar with doing lol.
I was thinking the same thing about Kearse and that number 0.

‘The Big Oh’ needs that.

I’m thinking TE is likely in round 1, just because Mayer and Kincaid are top prospects that could conceivably fall to us. They could easily both be gone by 26 as well.

Have no doubt the teams in front of us are not looking at TE for a first round pick. If we do take one it will be the only TE taken in round one.

What this graph is effectively stating is there is little difference between a first round tight end and a fourth round tight end. Where was Jason Witten drafted? Gronkowski? Ertz Kittle Kelce Goedert Andrews Schultz Waller? Amongst the best TE’s in football, none were first rounders.

You’re really just throwing away draft capital by taking one that high, nevermind the fact that it’s probably the least valuable position toward team success on offense or defense.

The sample size seems both brief and specific.

2011-2018?

Could see that, another reason why not crazy about TE at 26, prefer to trade back if the Texas RB is gone.

I am not a 100% sure what Big Mike has up His sleeve but From what I have read He wants a Fullback. Even as an H Back Durham is unique in His approach at Blocking

I am holding my breath for Him
I also like Brayden Willis from OU in that role

Could be a few different reasons. But Part of his point was tight ends take a while to develop; how many guys in the 2021 draft are lighting up the nfl right now? That as well as second contracts I believe the side on the left of the draft indicates. Anyone 2019 and sooner are still on rookie deals

As for 2011, maybe that’s where he decided to stop, or it’s that what worked in the nfl in 2005 may not be the same in today’s rule set (this grouping covers all current or recent TE stars). Or He may have just made the mental note to go back far enough to include Gronk.

Maybe we can give him 10….and the numbers look all small because my dude is massive.

This pick would make a lot of sense. Helps several things that need addressing…and he can start right away, which I know they expect from a first rounder

Now I’m all infatuated. You’d better deliver Mister Stash!! ;)

For me, it seems far too size a sample size to have great relevance as well as the fact that it’s now five years out of date.

I see the point trying to be made, and based on sample size it looks impressive. But taking a step back and looking at the source of the numbers renders it pretty ineffective in my opinion.

I’m zoning in on Darnell Washington as my pet cat and first pick if a trade down offer presents itself.

I think he checks off a lot if what our offense needs:

1. Want to improve the running game? Draft a great blocker.

2. Want to help the quarterback and passing game? Draft a 6’7” target who presents a matchup nightmare.

3. Want to allow Ferguson and Hendershot to focus on what they do best? Draft a TE who loves to do the oft-overlooked dirty work.

Yeah me as well, but I don't believe he will be the pick. He would make our running game better day one, and he can grow into being a great pass catcher. Tools are off the chart.

The source as in the guy who posted it?

What do you see happening ?

I can see several reasons why it would make sense from the teams point of view and how they typically operate.

I have the feeling it's Dalton Kincaid. I think they go for a more established pass catcher. It's starting to feel like the year we went LVE. I had that same gut feeling. I dont know if that's good or bad though.

We could very possibly draft a TE with our first pick. It would be hard to pass up Dalton Kincaid if he’s there. He’s in the mold of Kelce, and Kittle. That would add a lot of punch to our passing game and help Dak. I get that our young TE’s have potential, but you can’t pass up a dynamic playmaker especially at number 26.
Or you end up like the Pats who had 2 All Pros in Gronk and Hernandez.

Like Parcells said, you can never have too many tightends.

I still think Ferguson is going to be a star in this league.

Listening to Bryan Broaddus he seems to think the team is more high on Hendershot.

I figure Kincaid as off the board by 26.

It’ll be interesting if both Mayer and Washington are there.

Among other reasons based on history, I know they want a realistic chance for a 1st round player to be a starter at some point early on, if not right away.

TE or LG are the only spots I see that as possible. Unless a guy like the Tennessee tackle falls and they want to move him to LG, TE is probably going to make the most sense there when the time comes.

Mayer looks like the safer pick but I’d rather go with the upside of Washington. Decent shot there’s more there than we have seen, while Mayer may well have already peaked upside wise.
