Seems like this will be a series of articles about the draft called Fast Forward. Leading up to the draft.

1st one is about RB's. Currently on the roster as well as draft prospects.
It does not cover all the RB's in the draft, but some top prospects. They did leave off a few I know that some posters have mentioned.
Any good rb can have an instant impact given the Carrie’s and if we fix the oline.

With the supposed quality depth at TE and RB in this year's NFL draft, as well as Pollard being tagged, I expect the RB role to be more addressed
in the 3rd or 4th round.

The McClay group may already have another Pollard type prospect in mind in the 4th round (middle round)
I honestly think they are leaning more towards a compliment type back to pollard. More of a bigger workhorse.

Felix Jones part II

No way in hell we should choose a RB in the first - no matter what! We have learned our lesson. There's seems to be a lot of burnt orange sunglasses going on in here. We have much bigger needs than a RB. Get one later. No more Zekes or Joneses x 2.

I agree to look for a RB later on. However, if one is there maybe should not pass on, if that RB is Robinson. As we have Felix / Julius Jones in Pollard. Great compliment RB, but can't carry the load.

I am absolutely taking Bijan Robinson if he is on the board. If not then I'm jumping on the late round RB train.

I’m normally against a first round RB, but Robinson at 26 wouldn’t bother me.

Even if Jerry and Son don’t want to acknowledge ‘windows,’ they DO indeed exist, and ours is open for a short while here, and Robinson could have a big impact even if it’s only a few years.

He isn’t likely to be there, but if he is, there’s no way Jerry passes. I’m sure they have a top 15 grade on the guy.

I think it depends on who’s there
They set themselves up in FA to really take BPA at a position of need or soon to be a need. Soon to be is important because it gets you options in a year or two when a guy leaves
I could see a RB in 2nd thru 4th but I could see a 2nd if a guy they felt could be a starter quality guy there
But lots of moving parts when you pick late in every round

If Robinson was a choice at all for them i dont think TP would be here...I cant see a 10 mill tag and a 1st round pick going to the RB room....thats a ton of resources for a position group that can be handled very well with much less resources.

I’m not taking a position on the RB situation, but I will say this:

1. It is idiotic to take a lesser player in a higher round under the guise that a draft class is deeper at another position.

2. That is how you end up
With a Taco or a Shante Carver

That's why I'd be on board with a Bijah Robinson selection at 26th overall.

He's not " generational " as some want to envision and hype him to be.
His homerun breakaway speed is not on par with the Barkley, Peterson, Thominson, and even 2016 Zeke,.imo.

But it's his total combination of shifty elusiveness, run instincts, size (220 lbs) and power, receiving skills, durability and nose for the goal line
that makes him intriguing.

The year we hit on Pollard, three other backs were taken in the fourth round before him. Bryce Love never played a down for Washington. Justice Hill has totaled 547 rushing yards in four years for Baltimore. And Benny Snell has totaled 982, but a 3.6 average for Pittsburgh.

It's nice to believe McClay can just find another Pollard in the fourth, but we were fortunate to do it. In fact, seven more backs were taken in the fifth round and their teams don't have much to show for it. So that's one success out of 11 in those two rounds that year.

I know, right? It's so strange how some have bought into this idea that RBs are worthless. It's a frickin' cult. These guys wouldn't take Walter Payton in the first!!!!
Definitely not Emmitt Smith. He's too small. He's too slow. You can get a back like him in the fifth round.

I think some forum members would ...literally...lose their freakin minds. :)
you know the only way Id take RB at 26 is if Robinson was there. and that would depend on who they passed on. Ill be livid if the go TE in first. I really am hoping we go DT or Ol in the first and second. Then start looking RB and TE in 3 and 4.Im open to CB in any of the rounds after 1. I hear they like Kendre Miller from TCU or at least he was one of their 30 visits. I like the guy from UCLA ok myself Charbonett or something like that in terms of value in later rounds.

You take Bijan if he's there if he's not then you take DT if there's a great prospect with a first round grade

You DO NOT under any circumstances take a TE....you just don't unless he's Kelce out of the gate then NO and he better get 1400 yards his rookie year

Yep...no rb or te in 1st.
Id be willing to change my mind about te if he blocks like healthy tyrone smith and runs routes and catches like jerry rice.
