That's why I'd be on board with a Bijah Robinson selection at 26th overall.

He's not " generational " as some want to envision and hype him to be.
His homerun breakaway speed is not on par with the Barkley, Peterson, Thominson, and even 2016 Zeke,.imo.

But it's his total combination of shifty elusiveness, run instincts, size (220 lbs) and power, receiving skills, durability and nose for the goal line
that makes him intriguing.
I agree with you. He reminds me of a more shiftier Zeke. He looks like he runs a 4.4 similar to Zeke in 2016. I don't think he is as fast as Barkley.

Zeke was a one cut runner, who was never overly elusive ... while Robinson employs a lot of stop and re-start footwork and change of direction.

But I think 2016 Elliott was more powerful and faster than Robinson. And he's always been a terrific blitz blocker.

I know, right? It's so strange how some have bought into this idea that RBs are worthless. It's a frickin' cult. These guys wouldn't take Walter Payton in the first!!!!
In the old days I would agree with you, but the game today has changed a lot. RB is no longer the engine of an offense, and hasn't been for a while now. There's also free agency. Even if you draft Walter Payton in the first how long can you keep him? After his rookie deal he's going to command a salary you may not be able to afford and stay a contender.

It's not as binary a matter as it used to be. Far from it.

Absolutely. However, it's been proclaimed in this thread that you shouldn't draft RBs at all.

RBs are very useful tools. As far as not affording the salary, that is true of all positions. In today's NFL, you consider your 1st rounder as a 5 year rental, and that's all positions.

Might be wise to do what Bellychickens does, simply draft a mid round RB who can catch. And get a one dimensional LOS pounder.

With the supposed quality depth at TE and RB in this year's NFL draft, as well as Pollard being tagged, I expect the RB role to be more addressed
in the 3rd or 4th round.

The McClay group may already have another Pollard type prospect in mind in the 4th round (middle round)
I can see bijan going round one but I think a lot of guys will fall because of the depth. Bijan backup Johnson can be a sneaky steal.

The Cowboys have a history of drafting RB's that hit the ground running. In fact, three of them were OROY, Calvin Hill. Tony Dorsett, and Emmitt. Smith.

There was also Duane Thomas. Even DeMarco Murray had almost 900 yards in 13 games before he was injured his rookie season in 2011.

You take Robinson if he falls to you. That is a no brainer.
If you have a RB on your team right now that you think highly enough of that you franchised him, why would you draft ANY RB in the first or second round and that includes Robinson. Makes no sense when you have significantly larger holes to fill. IF Robinson falls to the Cowboys (Which he won't), trade down.

This, if Robinson was an option you dont tag TP. If he falls you get as much draft capitol for him as you can if there is not an OL or DT you want at 26

We need O-Line depth and DT, maybe even LB and TE more than RB. I see a 4th round RB. Anything earlier and we dont feel comfy with Pollard and others. I still think Elliot tests the market and comes back on a cheap deal after getting 6 million after June 1st.

While I agree, what if Bijan somehow falls to them in the 1st? Do they pass?
I think you would have to take him if he falls that far. His footwork is amazing and that's what makes him heads above the rest of the RBs. I think they are actually hoping he falls.

Zeke had 100+ first downs over the last two seasons. On 400+ rushes.

And that was with less than 60 percent of the snaps.

Running game wins games.

We just paid Pollard big money. He's the starter. We can't be drafting 2023 backups in round 1. We need a starter at a position of need..... LG, LB, or DT

Its all relative to who is still on the Board but no one could be mad with acquiring Him with the 26th pick . . . The value is insane

Of course you can wait in a RB later but its a craps shoot . . . Projection and Production are 2 entirely different things and many of those RBs will not pan out as expected

Bijan will hit the ground running and Him being drafted by Dallas is a Cowboy and NFL Marketing dream come true

He would be the top selling Jersey in the Nation His rookie year. . .

If you wanna play Ball Control Offense that Compliments our Defense well then Abidjan is your Man

It makes too much sense that Jerry Drafts Him and the Fact that there would be a lot of tears coming from Cowboy Fans almost makes it a fore gone conclusion

Then Charbonnet would be your guy.
Yah, love the guy. But 2nd round is steep. Trade back and pick up an extra 2nd and im fine with it. Just get me a stud guard with the first pick.
