When you run a legit 4.35 and Jimmy Johnson still cuts you early in your career... you know you can't catch ****.
I have seen an unofficial 4.19 on him but, you are right. bad hands. one good kick return is all i remember and it was aganist the Eagles.

You might be thinking about Randal Williams I believe. Williams is the one who took an opening onsides kick from Andy Reid's Eagles back for the quickest score in NFL history. That was in the early 2000's and after Jimmy's time. Williams was blazing fast too.

However, you could be talking about Alexander Wright running back a kick against the Eagles in the early 90's that I can't remember. It is possible that I have forgotten Wright doing that, so if you are then I apologize.

Guess Scandrick takes it as a current Cowboy.......but all time, give me Bullet Bob Hayes. Even his number 22, signified speed. I remember growing up, local high school teams usually assigned 22 to their fastest player.

When I get to heaven, I want to see Bob Hayes and Deion race in their primes.

We've had a lot of really fast guys, but to me none has been faster than Hayes. Deion may be close though. I really don't know. Two of our players were on the Oregon track team that held the WR in the 4 X 100 relay. Mel Renfro and Mike Gaechter. Herschel and Tony were incredibly fast. For his size Hershcel may have been the most impressive of the speed demons. That was a big man flying like that.

You are correct, Magic. If anyone on the CZ hasn't seen the Bullet, you missed the fastest hundred in football.

Fastest legit 40 ever? Deon would be in the top 5, but the official #1 and 2 belong to Bo (you know Bo?) at 4.12 and 4.18.
Dude was possibly the worlds greatest athlete.

I would love a burner WR threat on this team. Give me a Desean Jackson or Mike Wallace without the personality issues.

A guy like Josh Brown for the Cards in the third round is ideal. Don't have to give up a primo pick, and you can use him to stretch the D. Substitute T.Y. Hilton (round 3) or Randall Cobb (end of round 2) for the same effect.

You mean John Brown.

If I had to bet on one of them, I'd probably decide on Scandrick. He was the fastest CB when he was drafted.

I remember reading Dunbar ran a 4.45 at his pro-day, not really super fast. Also remember Murray ran a 4.40 at the combine and he is definitely not that fast.

How did he run a 4.4 forty if he's not that fast? Jet pack?

There was nothing legit about those Bo times, they were hand timed. Look at the difference between the top hand-timed forties and the top times after electronic timing was introduced. The differences are significant.

Sammy Watkins and Dez Bryant would be the best 1-2 punch in the NFL at wide receiver. Too bad we'll never get Sammy. Sammy would probably be a better fit on a team that has a QB with a big arm anyways. I love Romo but throwing the deep ball a lot isn't his game.

Pray tell, who are the deep ball specialists in the NFL today?

I don't even understand why a lot of guys who run very fast 40s look so slow on the field. Like this thread mentions the opposite happens too, again they don't always play at their timed speed it is still strange.

I do know what you mean but I think you're mistaking Murray's smoothness for slowness. In other wors, he's so smooth, he doesn't look like he's running that fast. Are you going to be as fast as some defenders while you're carrying a football? No, but Murray's got enough speed to house it from nearly anywhere on the field, as proven by some of those big runs he had against the Rams when he broke the single-game record, among others.
