I'd take Herschel and TO all day. Somehow TO would consistently get 5 yards behind the defense and Romo would launch scuds 50 yards.

The Cowboys really don't have many burners but I would've said Dunbar or Scandrick before I watched the vid.

It seems like Scandrick is the consensus.

I was going to say the same thing. This is a relatively slow team.

Scuds?

As in Iraqi, launch it out of the trunk of your car and then turn on CNN to see where it landed, Scud missiles?

HTTR, bro?

I wish we had a real burner at receiver. We've had guys with loads of speed (Galloway, Ismail) but not the complete skill set to be an effective WR.

I'd love to have a guy like ODB on our team...

How did he run a 4.4 forty if he's not that fast? Jet pack?

There was nothing legit about those Bo times, they were hand timed. Look at the difference between the top hand-timed forties and the top times after electronic timing was introduced. The differences are significant.
I always find it interesting how non-professional athletes think 4.5 is "not that fast". The average guy getting off the couch that's in shape doesn't run a 4.6.

I would love a burner WR threat on this team. Give me a Desean Jackson or Mike Wallace without the personality issues.

As much as I love Cole Beasley, if the coaching staff isn't going to use him, they need to bring in a WR3 who is a real burner. Someone who can take the top off the defense and catches the ball high.

The team lacks a lot of speed, which makes it even more frustrating when they won't incorporate Dunbar more. I'm surprised we don't try to use Dunbar more on returns.

Orlando Scandrick has a better 40 time than Dunbar, but I don't see him playing as fast as his 40 time to be honest. I don't think I've really seen him carry a WR down field.

Anyone with inside knowledge knows it's Rowdy. He even looks fast.

His cowboy hat does look more aerodynamic lol

On two different occasions in 2013, Jeff Heath ran past Scandrick when both were chasing a player far down-field. I re-watched it several times and it was not an illusion.

I remember it once for sure... I think it was against Detroit down the far sideline.

You don't need a timer to know that Bo Jackson was one of the fastest players to ever step on a football field. I'm certain that he's the fastest at his weight.

I think it's still Alexander Wright.

Calling all Historians of Cowboys Lore....

No Question " Bullet Bob Hayes".... Olympic Champion , multiple gold medal winner

P.S. Proud owner of his autograph from his participation at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia in the 60's

The Cowboys had a guy a few years ago named Teddy Williams. He ran a 9.9 100 meter in track competition. I think Bob Hayes fastest official time was 9.1, but they say several people had hand times of 9.9 for him.

The Cowboys had a guy in training camp that Garrett's father Jim Garrett (a long time Cowboys scout) said was the fastest guy that he had ever seen.

Does anybody remember that story?

Good find, but also take into account Hayes was running on cinder tracks which are a lot slower. He also clocked 5 separate 9.1 100 yard times.

Probably more astonishing is the following: a sub 9 on his leg of the winning 4X 100 meter relay. Sure he had a running start, but anyone who has ever taken " the stick" knows there is a moment of hesitancy to make sure you actually have it secured.......

Hayes’ 8.6-second split in the anchor leg of 4x100 meter relay — a dash described 20 years later in the Los Angeles Times as the “most astonishing sprint of all time” — helped the U.S. men rally for the gold while setting a world record of their own.

Pray tell, who are the deep ball specialists in the NFL today?
The way I phrased that I was trying to imply that Romo is more comfortable in a West Coast style offense where the deep ball isn't a big key to success, not that he's not capable of throwing it well. And idk if he's any worse at it than the next person, but there's a few guys out there that have a bigger arm and throw the deep ball more bc of it for better or worse (Stafford, Flacco, Roethlisberger, Mallett, etc.)

Terrance Williams? Scandrick?

I have no clue nobody stands out. We don't really have any burners on the team like anymore.

Jeff Heath.

Many here like to pretend he has NFL talent. I like to pretend he had 4.2 speed.

Seriously, we don't seem to have that legit burner. I like all of our offensive weapons but I'd like to see the team add a speedster, whether that's a RB or a slot WR, or maybe someone who can do both. Duke Johnson comes to mind.

Ah I came up with Tolen but remembered he was on Hard Knocks I assume it is Todd Lowber.

He was right up there with Herschel. In college Herschel ran a 6.12 60 yard dash, Bo ran a 6.18. I'd say that Bo was the second fastest at that weight, by a hair. He had better wiggle than Herschel though IMO.
