It is great to beat the Saints who are 10-1. Certainly the best team they've beaten in a long time, but this team isn't going to win playoff games consistently.

Scoring 13 points isn't going to get it done. You think the Saints have a top defense? They don't.

They played like they were in the Super Bowl tonight, but this won't get it done. The offense is a problem and if you can't see that, you're going to have to wait until they are 1 and done in the playoffs again.
I concur. although I am trying to enjoy this win. I do not believe Dak is the solution.

If Romo had this D in his prime, I think we'd have it knocked.

it's not like he isn't accurate. if not for the defense playing their sacks off, I don't know what would have happened. You can't expect to win with just 13 points against a super bowl contender.
Nevermind the fact that we did just win with only 13 points against a Super Bowl contender.

I don't think there is a question that this roster is pretty talented. THey are held back by the coaching staff....at least the HC and the OC. They likely are not going to go far in the playoffs due to the coaching. However, there is the right time for this kind of thread.....and this ain't it.

I said you can't expect to. You can't. We did yes, and I'm happy we won, but you cannot expect that to be the norm, especially when it comes to the post season.

Nothing faux about this defense.... it just beat one of the highest scoring offenses in history.

The Saints were probably the best team in the league coming into this game. This wasn't a cheapie.

Exactly.
This game was going to go 1 of 3 ways, Saints blowout Dallas or close game down to the wire with a Dallas/Saints win. I just don’t get how people expected Dallas to comfortably beat NO? They’re 10-1 for a reason. Don’t underestimate a hot team on a 10 game winning streak.

They had the #1 ranked offense and the #1 ranked rushing defense.

How the heck did you find a negative?

They've given up an average of 23.3 points per game. Good for 15th in the NFL. That we only scored 13 points against their defense is cause for concern. That the defense only gave up 10 points is cause for praise and celebration.

The problem with fans, particularly the ones in this thread are the inability to think critically about both scenarios.

The offense continues to to be a problem. Will the defense continue to play lights out week in and week out? Will Zeke continue to play lights out? I don't think it will continue week to week when you play teams like the Vikings, Saints, Rams, Chiefs or Patriots week after week.

Is this team going to be a #1 or #2 seed?

No. So we're going to be in the wild card round.

And who is injured for us?

We have the cavalry coming in.

Smith, Swaim, Irving, Lee, Austin, and potentially even Frederick.

Add those boys to this roster tomorrow and this team can run the table, but it won't happen tomorrow, it'll trickle over the next few weeks.

And more players will be injured in the mean time... I'm not sure this isn't an argument for teams around the league.

This team has gone 13-3 twice in the last 11 years and lost in the divisional round both times. There is a reason for that and you'd be intellectually honest to put together a reason as to why that is and see if it applies to this team that is currently 7-5.
