There needs to be some categorizing here with your off the rack regular candy bars and I will go with Heath or Butterfinger but I would rather have them both.

But then there are those designer top shelf candy bars with all kinds of goodies in them like chili peppers, fruit and other unusual tidbits.

In that arena, I will go with Tony's Chocolonely Caramel and Sea Salt. He uses Maldon Sea Salt which is little crystals so you can bite into them and crunch on them and the contrast is like movie popcorn and a chocolate bar alternating with the mind altering and often paralyzing decision "on which do I finish, salty or sweet?" but you don't have to decide, salty and sweet in every bite.

I just had my first one today, Whole Foods has them on special, because SZ planted the subliminal thought with this damned thread. Couldn't be favorite: celery, carrots or radishes, Oh hell no, had to be candy bars. But I gotta say, this Tony's bar may be the best chocolate I ever put in my mouth. But I may have to sample more of it to be sure, can't be too hasty with this important of a decision.. It's a bigass bar too, not bad for the designer stuff. Usually they're thinner than a Garrett excuse.

I don't eat a lot of candy so when I do, it's usually a nice treat. I do like those though. I used to love Reeses but they taste differently now.
I guess I go in phases/ cycles, that, & seeing +$2 turns me off immediately at a convenience store.

* I've still got 1/4 of one of those big Hersey chocolate bars w/ almonds * within sight* thats well over 6 months laying around.

What's a Whole Foods "On Special" candy bar run? About $26.00?

What about these? My GF makes these candies.

These are chocolates shells with Brazilian Brigadeiro chocolates inside with fondant aminal designs on top. They were for a Safari themed party.

Yeah they're good stuff. I can remember my grandfather giving me $$$ and riding my bike to the Circle K to buy us both candy as a kid. He was a WWII vet and used to tell me how much they loved getting Chic-O-Sticks, Baby Ruth's, and Tootsie Rolls over seas. He said he'd always trade his smokes (Lucky Strikes) for candy. Same guy taught me to love Spam too.

That's Funny. My Grandad did the same for me. For him it was straight Hersey Bars and Boston Baked Beans. Same deal on the Spam though. I still fry it up and eat it for breakfast on occasion. Can't beat those WWII guys Jimmy.

I like Candy but for me, the be all end all, is Peanut Brittle. I can not lay off of it. I can't even have it in the house because I will eat it till it's gone and I can't afford that, I'm diabetic so yeah. But man, I do love it. They sell Brittle at Sam's Club called Old Fashioned. It comes in a big tub and good lord, I can not be around that stuff. It's like Samson and hair cuts for me.

Wow, your GF is talented. My daughter-in-law is a pastry chef and makes brownies that should be illegal. She also makes marshmallows and lemon and vanilla wafers that will make you cry when they're gone.

Your post looks like a Hogwarts Buffet.

Back then, I didn't know white chocolate existed so I avoided those because they looked foreign.

When I was a kid, I was a professional Payday stripper at the theater. I could get every peanut off the outside before going in on the nougat and am one of the reasons people's shoe came off when walking on the theater floor. I think that's how Stickum was created.
