Looks promising on paper

I won’t succumb to the nonsense that a first time head coach who was approached after the team couldn’t come to terms McCarthy and in 25 years of coaching with ten different employers never got a head coaching position is the answer. I won’t just accept a receiver another team was anxious to get rid of is the difference between contending and coming 3rd or 4th. I won’t mindlessly buy into a day three draft pick becoming another Gale Sayers.

Wanting something to happen, no matter how badly, will not make it so.
So, you'll be rooting for us to lose. Ok, that's your right, since no matter how badly you wanted different moves, they didn't happen. Personally, I like the Schottenheimer, Pickens and Blue moves. Will they bring up immediate success, I don't think so, but, I'm not a quitter, so I'll be rooting for a win, every week.

If this team stays relatively healthy, our draft isn't a bust plus Pickens. I think Dallas can win 10 games. Hell, Dak has the much needed two #1 WRs to throw to now.
This^^^^^remember MM saying the first teams to win 10 games can start thinking about playoffs. Jerry sabotaged this team during last year's offseason and Dak missed like what 10-12 games? We still won 7 games........interestingly played better on the road than at home.

Our margin is razor thin, but as stated, if we can avoid key injuries and adjust to Schotty and his staff, I like our Wild Card chances.

I would feel much better if the DT group and the starting OTs were better. There are some good groups on this team but those key spots are question marks.

Sam Williams can be a good player and he has made a few plays in the time he has played. The problem with Sam is that we remember all his bonehead mistakes over his good plays. I think some fans are underrating him though. If he stays healthy this year I think he could be the surprise we weren't expecting.

I just read that Hankins is coming back on a 1 year deal. There, DT problem solved!!

I don't care how it looks on paper because I don't care about paper championships, especial when a division rival is racking up real championships. This is no time to step back and praise what is on paper. It's time for the coaches and players to put their noses to the grindstone and get better. It's time for the front office to acquire the best talent possible for the biggest holes on this roster. Everyone do your job and let's get this sixth Super Bowl title! :flagwave:

I expect Sam to have a career season, it's contract time. Ten to nine sacks would not surprise me at all.

There is a learning curve, Joe. This is especially true with an entirely new coaching staff. Regardless of what coaches see in OTAs, training camp or preseason, only real live games will give them a true evaluation of how each player responds to their plays. I think it could take us a few games before we start playing well as a team.

I agree. Division games early in the season worry me.

All I hear is excuses

I saw Dan Quinn take bunch of our backups , some of our coaches, make them starters, and take a rookie quarterback in his first year in this division ,and some of it is because the Cowboys were dinged up but he didn't use an excuse, it was the first year and they were growing pains in a learning curve they went to the NFC Championship game albeit got their **** spanked and ran out of the building but they did it..

I saw Rex Ryan do it twice in a row took a new team that he just started his first head coaching job with The Jets with a very suspect offense created a great defense and went to back-to-back AFC Championship games with Mark Sanchez!!!!..

So, anything can happen this year maybe we only win 9 games maybe we win 12 games and go to the NFC Championship game it's all on the table when not a game has been played yet....

Of these, Shottenheimer is my least favorite move. I just have a bad feeling about it. Gives me JG vibes.

I hope I'm wrong.
