2K5 owns!!!

I loved 2k5 except for those miracle interceptions the defensive players could get, you know the ones I'm talking about.

2K5 was a great football game but 2K have a new game coming out called "all pro football 2K8" which will probably be better than madden - there is a video of the new physics they are using and it looks very good.

brand recognition. EA Sports has been around forever. The Madden name has been around forever. Madden was once a great franchise, but that no longer is the case. Vision cone? crap. You see that crap in the Madden Tournament that is on tv? Neither of those guys play realistic football. It's about finding and exploiting the horrible AI and using it to your advantage. Only in madden can you drop your QB 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage, roll to your left or right, and fire a laser pass for a td. No pressure from defensive players anywhere in that process. In this years game on 360, fatigue was broken. You could take your running back and run him all freaking day from endzone to endzone. There were no substitutions unless you manually substituted the players. We've asked for gang tackling forever in the series, nothing. Oh but it finally shows up in the PS3 version. What about the mario running where you running back gets sucked into the back of the offensive lineman and just stands there running in place. Madden is still a good game, but it's not near the great/fun game it used to be. There are several things the 2K series did better than Madden.

Slapping ESPN on the cover of the 2k series doesn't count as brand recognition?

Bolded: You cannot do that anymore. Michael Vick made it necessary for the passing cone, which solved that problem.

Forget about 360 the game is awful and they still have kinks to work out of it.

What exactly did the 2k series do better than madden in gameplay? I'm really curious.

didnt one of the original versions of madden have that? when a player would get injured the ambulance would drive onto the field and run over every player in the way. HILARIOUS!!!!!

If that was the 1993 one then yes that one was the ultimate. i loved it for the same reason :lmao2:

people still do that, and if your not good enough they will just kill you all game with that crap. Since the Falcons have Ashley *allpro* Lelie who has like a 97 speed you can just run around with vick till he passes your cornerback, which happens frequently

NFL Fever 03 :D i was unstoppable then MSFT stop making games so now its up to the only company that makes a good football game Blitz the league :) then All pro football 2k8

2k5 is the best game to come out in some time. I was very disappointed that Madden bought out the license after that year, but I look forward to the 2k8 just as long as you can download player names and team logos, etc.

Other than that, I'd have to mention Tecmo Super Bowl as a game way ahead of its time. It took years for the Madden franchise to match it in terms of play and stat tracking.

It's sad to me that Madden has yet to capitalize on so many things that have already been done such as halftime and postgame replay shows (2k5) and highlights from other games (Madden 93 did this during the playoffs - why can't they do better than that 14 years later?). Why isn't there a skills competition during Pro Bowl week to see if your player is the most accurate passer, receiver, strongest player, etc? What about having a team Hall of Fame where you can induct your own players?

you need to learn how to play defense

the only football game i've ever purchased besides the NCAA series is madden. i've always thought that it was a good game until the '07. the gameplay hasn't improved since the '05 game, the graphics are cool but the animations are so unrealistic it's funny sometimes. the thing that i hate most about the game is the 'out of game' features. you can't edit players numbers, attributes, and things of that nature. i knew it was bad when i played the dolphins in franchise mode and i kid you not their left tackle was wearing number 13. dan marino's number of course. a couple of weeks later i played the vikings and they had hall of fame player herb adderly as their right guard and their kicker was playing right tackle. and i couldn't even get one sack over these guys. not to mention how many times a guy catches the ball clearly out of bounds only to have it ruled a complete pass.

madden 07 just sucks no doubt about it.
