Since we have had a couple of different threads on movies lately, I thought I would ask what are some of your favorite movies in the different movie genres.

My favorites:

Sci-Fi: Star Wars

Action/Adventure: The Indiana Jones movies

Western: El Dorado

War: The Longest Day

Comedy: Animal House and Airplane! (Love watching both equally)

Drama: The Presidio

Horror: Don't care for the genre. Never found a movie that was any good.

That is all I can think of right now. If I forgot any genre(s) please add it to the list. Thanks.

War: Paths To Glory/Full Metal jacket share top spot, since I love everything Kubrick and both are just great.

Sci-Fi: 2001: A Space Odyssey. (I know I'll probably get killed for this.)

Period Piece/Western: The Proposition. Not really sure if it's "Western", but, close.

Period Piece: Barry Lyndon.

Horror: The Shining.

Thriller: Silence of the Lambs.

Suspense: Memento.

Comedy: Probably far too many to name, but I love classic Mel Brooks movies, like Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. Old School kicked *** too.

Drama: To Kill A Mockingbird.

Sport: Raging Bull

Yeah I know, I didnt respond for that reason.

I just thought about it and remembered it was 2.50 or 2 bucks for the matinee, still pretty cheap. I think it was 89 or 90.

While it is hard to watch(put me to sleep the first 2x lol)... you cannot deny its significance. It was ahead of its time and had much foresight. Therefore anyone who kills you for it just doesnt "get it".

I really just like psychological thriller like Identity and Derailed and Sixth Sense (not Hide and Seek, what a dumb movie, I figured it out in the first 10 mins).

But...

Sci-Fi: Stardust

Adventure: National treasure, The Goonies,

Comedy: anything with Cameron Diaz in it (also Non-Comedy)

Sports: Shaolin Soccer

Horror: Silence of the Lamb

Okay, so I like watching chick flicks and psychological thrillers and comedy. Not really into action unless it involves hunting for treasures.
