I love The Wanting Seed and Tremor Of Intent.

A Meeting in Valladolid from The Devil's Mode and Other Stories is great. The way he depicts Shakespeare killed me. I read that short when I was still in high school and can't attest for the rest in that volume because I just never got to them. Yet. :)

Hey, you shook loose a memory for me! (I may well be an Alzheimer's candidate - looks like more exercise and a reduced fat diet is in the cards for Suspect...) I read "The Devil's Mode" back in the early 90's. Awesome Burgess look at historical and literary figures like Atla and Cervantes. It read like a compilation of short stories and really brought them to life. Blazed thru cuz I just couldn't put it down.

I'll take your advice and check out "The Wanting Seed" and/or "Tremor of Intent".

movie that I went to that should store up all the browny points with wife until I die.

Sex In the City. (I told her as I walked in with her that I should have put bag over my head so nobody would recognize me. The things you do for love.....

I hear that. My favorite is "Honey hold my purse." After all these years I've been thru it so many times I'm thinking of buying one for myself just so I can say "sure - if you'll hold mine."

I am going to put that quote on her tombstone I swear. That or "Where"s my purse?" And the panic that comes in a mili second if she thinks she left it somewhere or just can't find it in the same place she just put it. down. And the thing about her purse is that it weights about 50lbs. She must have $100 in quarters in the bottom of her purse. It is a freakin weapon.
