When I was a kid my dad liked to wake us up on Sundays at 5am for church with this song blasting thru speakers he'd installed throughout the house:

Great choices Trick...

Amazing how great of a voice "Gentleman" Jim Reeves had...

And wasn't "Stand By Your Man" called the #1 country song of all-time (per one organization anway)? It is a great song.

Growing up in Texas, it was inevitable that I listened to country at some point in my life. Here are two of my favorite songs...

Jim Reeves had the voice of a generation. He died WAY too young... I've passed by his memorial near Carthage many times. He was another favorite of my dad's...

Stand by Your Man is just classic country. Even those that hate it know it. I always loved the rendition they did in the Blues Brothers movie as the "Good Old Blues Brothers Boys Band"...

great song indeed

Easy Lovin' is the only song in history to be named Song of the Year by CMA for two years... '71 and '72... amazing feat...

The album was failing and a DJ in Atlanta liked it and started playing Easy Lovin'... and it caught on... lucky for us...

Freddie Hart is still alive and at 84 released a new album last year. Critics say it is roadmap for a great album. I have it and this guy can still sing... AMAZING album... "I Wouldn't Trade America For The World". He's written over 15 or so number one songs...

The guy still has it...
