I loved Renfro as a player too, but realistically he was only a Cowboy for what ...... 2 years or so?
I think most of us that are old enough to remember would say Roger - and I'm no exception. Hard to imagine a holding anyone else up as the face of the franchize. Meets all the criteria - good guy, great athlete, no off-field problems ever, fierce competitor, the ultimate leader who inspired more faith and confidence in his teammates than anyone I ever saw
Bob Lilly, however, is a close 2nd. Our very first draft pick, an intense player, a native Texan, and unmistakeably one of the very best D-linemen in history.
I also love some of the old, hard nosed guys like Lee Roy Jordan, Walt Garrison, Cliff Harris, Bill Bates ....... those kind of guys are not only fun to watch, but they inspire teammates.

Among my favorites were:
Don Meredith
Bob Lilly
Bob Hayes
Cliff Harris
Charlie Waters
Roger Staubach
Lee Roy Jordan
Tony Dorsett
Chuck Howley
Randy White
Drew Pearson
The list could go on and on...

Naw, it isn't even close. Henson could have won 3 Super Bowls like Troy and it still wouldn't be close.bbgun;1520267 said:Oh, we both know that's not true.
