Being a RB, unil my Achilles Tendon operation. I always been partial to RB's, so it was Tony Dorsett. Up until he was drafted, it was Roger Staubach, and was always a close 2nd to TD.

Obviously Emmitt was 90's on.

Mike Renfro. Slow, white, possesion reciever, just like me in high school!

I'll go Aikman & Irvin. Drafted in 89 & 88 respectively. :D
I loved Renfro as a player too, but realistically he was only a Cowboy for what ...... 2 years or so?

I think most of us that are old enough to remember would say Roger - and I'm no exception. Hard to imagine a holding anyone else up as the face of the franchize. Meets all the criteria - good guy, great athlete, no off-field problems ever, fierce competitor, the ultimate leader who inspired more faith and confidence in his teammates than anyone I ever saw

Bob Lilly, however, is a close 2nd. Our very first draft pick, an intense player, a native Texan, and unmistakeably one of the very best D-linemen in history.

I also love some of the old, hard nosed guys like Lee Roy Jordan, Walt Garrison, Cliff Harris, Bill Bates ....... those kind of guys are not only fun to watch, but they inspire teammates.

I find it very hard to believe that I will ever love a player as much as I did Staubach.

To this day, for me, Staubach sits on a tier above all others. Captain Comeback forever, that's my motto.

Well, I'm too young to remember Roger, but the one thing I do remember as a little kid is seeing Tony D break that 99 yard TD. I almost blew my knee out I was cheering so hard, lol. Course my age was single digits, but I was still going nuts.....:D

You must be at least as old, and maybe older than I am.

Good list.

Herschel Walker

Because I was born in 1981 and grew up cheering for him, since he was the only player worth a damn on those late 80s teams.

That trade was also the first traumatic sports moment of my life, as I couldn't understand why anyone would trade the man that was, to me as a child, the greatest football player ever.

Wow that is a really hard question... I liked Dandy Don a lot! I liked Le Roy a lot. I liked Bullet Bob a lot. I liked Bob Lilly a lot. I liked Too Tall a lot. I guess too many to list really. I could keep this going for a long list though.

You know we only had 10 men on the field when that happened?

Pretty amazing huh?

Jim Jeffcoat is the reason I became a Cowboys fan, but my favorite Cowboys player of all time bar none is Rayfield Wright.

Naw, it isn't even close. Henson could have won 3 Super Bowls like Troy and it still wouldn't be close.

Roger is on a pedestal that is too high for anyone to reach.

Now if you had said Brandon Everage...
