Favorite songs.

I usually like a song for a while, then I grow tired of it.

But here are some of my favorites:

Forever Young - Alphaville
Keeping the Faith - Billy Joel
Hard to Handle - Black Crowes
Southern Cross - Crosby Stills and Nash (also like Buffett version)
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
But Not Tonight - Depeche Mode
Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits
Separate Ways - Journey
Age of Consent - New Order
Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes - Paul Simon
The Boxer - Simon and Garfunkel
Yer So Bad - Tom Petty
Only You - Yazoo

I really blow hot and cold on Peter Gabriel. He's capable of some brilliant music (the whole Passion album, Don't Give Up, Biko) but he can also drive me crazy with his excesses. In Your Eyes is somewhere in the middle for me.

I'm a huge fan of the early stuff -- but nothing after So was good for me. After that he just went all adult alternative. His 3rd and 4th albums Security and Peter Gabriel (the 3rd one called that -- the one with the Melting Face cover) are great. Awesome albums.

Download the entire Bruce Springsteen collection. And then find some bootlegs...

Then spend the next year enjoying the greatness of the boss.

I guarantee you will be in love with Born to Run, Born in the USA, Darkness on the edge of town and the rising.

then the river will blow you away.

He is the king....
I really like him.. but am not narrow minded enough to tag him with king status. :p:

If you like Bruce -- esp. an album like Born to Run you might check out the new album by the Hold Steady called Boys and Girls in America.

To me, it has a feel very much like Born to Run with a much more modern twist. One of my faves of 2006.

love on the rocks.........neil diamond

Gotta go with this one on old Neil.

Baby loves me
Yes, yes she does
Ah, the girls outta sight, yeah

Says she loves me
Yes, yes she does
Gonna show me tonight, yeah

She got the way to move me, cherry
She got the way to groove me
She got the way to move me
She got the way to groove me

Tell your mama, girl, I cant stay long
We got things we gotta catch up on
Mmm, you know
You know what Im sayin
Cant stand still while the music is playin

Yaint got no right
No, no you dont
Ah, to be so exiting

Wont need bright lights
No, no we wont
Gonna make our own lightning

She got the way to move me, cherry
She got the way to groove me
She got the way to move me
She got the way to groove me

No, we wont tell a soul where we gone to
Girl, we do whatever we want to
Ah, I love the way that you do me
Cherry, babe, you really get to me

She got the way to move me, cherry
She got the way to groove me
She got the way to move me
She got the way to groove me
